HOT! Their site was down this morning so the deal has not been posted, but it's up now! PCconnection.com has the NEC ND-3500A 16X Double Layer DVD±RW Drive (black) for $49.95 after $50 exclusive rebate! It's one the best 16X DVD burner out there. The price is the lowest we've ever seen. Get yours now!

Plus, on the product page (on the right column) add the Fuji 4.7GB DVD-R Media 50 Pack Spindle to your cart for FREE after $39.88 rebate!

You can just buy the DVD writer for $49.99 after rebate, but adding 50-pack DVD-Rs is a much better deal because they are going to charge the same shipping for both items.

NEC ND-3500A 16X DVD Burner

$50 DVD rebate

$39.88 bundle rebate

Very Nice !

This is the lowest I have this this drive for.

If this would have been silver model I would had to buy it.

I want silver also. man these silver aluminum cases. Why just why .

The black drives must not sell well as newegg had the black for 62.99 deleivered last week.

Yes it is but the free DVD's after rebate seems to sweeten the deal a bit more but still want a silver drive as I just don't like two different colors even though my drives are behind drive covers with doors. I know weird but that is my taste ans never heard of this company so how is there return policy and there regular price is 99.97 I beleive verses 68.00 for newegg

Also involves a 50.00 rebate to get the price if you get the rebate back:Q

This one also allows you to get up to 3 and get a rebate for each one. Orders of $250 or more get free shipping. So two DVD burners, the free DVD-Rs, and $10 of filler will get you free shipping. I got one for me and my dad and will end up paying $50 total for the burner and 40 blank DVDs, a great deal.

Newegg lowered there price on the silver drive now 64.99 from $67.99 with 5.00 fed x shipping. The beige is the same and free shipping on the black . No rebates involved

I just ordered the silver and paid 69.99 deleivered. It was worth the extra money for me to have a drive that will match my Antec silver case or any othe silver aluminum case I own in the future no painting involved.

PS it was a X-Mas present I ordered for me from my Mom. Thank You mom🙂

i bit on it... added:
2x DVI-D dual link cables ($12.95 each)
Creative Webcam NX Ultra ($40 AR!!)
3x desktop stand mics ($1.07 each!!)
1x Sony DVD-RW 4.7GB disc...

came out to:
$252.38 including the drive and the 50-pack DVD-R... over $249 got me free shipping, and no tax!! woohoo!

price after rebates:
$252.38
-$40 (DVD-R)
-$40 (Webcam)
-$50 (NEC drive)
========
$122.38

Funny...I am going through this with my wife right now! She wants me to get her the NEC 3500 (for data backup), but wants it to match her other drives. She wants it to be the same as her Liteon 52246S. I do not remember what the default color was back in the days when you did not have a choice?

Anyone know?

Is this a better drive than the Aopen (cheaper on 24 hour sale today) and the Sony, both dual layer drives? I don't know anything about DVD burning, but I'm thinking this might be the right time to move up from CD-R's...

-D.

Bump in case anyone can answer the question, since one of those is on a one-day sale and I should really get an order in today if I'm buying...

Personally, I like the Pioneer.

The Aopen is a bit fussy on media

However, the reason the NEC's are being blown out is the fact that the newer 3520 is imminent.
Also the Pioneer 109 is due any day now.

Heres a NEC review:

yea i've heard about the 3520's.... but it would appear the only differences are faster speeds, and their new whatever power-adjusting feature (i forgot what it's called)

Edit: thus, is it worth it to wait for those?

DVD Burner manuf have two ways to improve a drive
New Firmware
New drive internals

Since NEC and Pioneer have gone to a new drive model, one must assume fairly substantial upgrade.

I don't see where it says you can get up to 3 drives on the rebate form as stated in a previous post, anybody know if that is the case?

I own ND-2500a with hacked firmware, I am not in a hurry to buy this 3500a because I am waiting for 16x dvdr disc to drop to the price of 8x or even 4x.
