If this works for someone - they owe me a drink or something...
If you look through the best Buy Website you'll notice 2 listings for 512MB Mushkin PC2700.
Mushkin - 512MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM DIMM Memory (Model 990927, "Level 2", $99.95)
and
Mushkin - 512MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM DIMM Memory (Model 990866, DOES NOT SAY "Level 2", $94.99 -- ie. DONT BUY THIS ONE!)
The 1st on shows "Model: 990927" and the 2nd shows "Model: 990866"
Now go to Mushkin's website - http://www.mushkin.com/epages/Mushkin.storefront/3f3518d902423d5c2741c0a8010505b9/Product/View/990927
Notice the last 6 numbers in the URL? I had searched for these 2 model numbers with the website's search feature and came up empty. But looking around it seemed like the last number in the URL was a part number so I changed it to the ones shown on the BB website. If the BB model number that's shown is really 990927 and that's appears to be Mushkin's number - then I think this is a pretty hot deal. And I have 1 more reason to think these are really the same... The BB website if you into the item's page it shows: 'Mushkin 512MB PC2700 Level 2 DDR SDRAM DIMM Memory " Note Level 2 that's now in the title! The Mushkin page I get when I put in the same model says "512MB PC2700 222 - Black Hi Perf Level II" - again Level 2.
BB - $99 for 512MB
Mushkin - $145
Newegg " Mushking Model 990927" $149 http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?DEPA=&submit=Go&description=Mushkin+DDR+512MB+PC%2D2700
BTW - the "Product Link" at the NewEgg site seems to match.
Edit - http://www.computerhq.com/hardware/partinfo-id-29402.html
Also shows this model # to be Black Level 2. Found by OCedHrt
This is looking more and more like BB has this RAM about $50 cheaper than anybody else.
8/14 Edit - RAM finally arrive. 5 days for order w/overnight shipping to arrive. BB refunded $6 of my $12 shipping to compensate me. (wow!) But it seems to be worth it! Package was indeed Mushkin Black Level 2 with CAS222. But I plugged a pair of these into my SY-P4I875P motherboard. And it id's the ram as DDR400!!! Could this be right?? I had to back off a bit to get it stable in dual channel mode, but this mb is known to be picky. I'm inching it back to see where it max'es out.
