SMOKING HOT DEAL people.
I saw the earlier posts about people getting this phone for $150+, which was a good deal for January, but check this out!!!
I went to NJ Cellular in Cranford, NJ yesterday with two of my friends, looking for a new wireless plan. I am sick and tired of Cingular's overbilling, dropped calls, and rude CSR's.
AT&T is offering a great plan, provided you sign up for a two year contract. 600 minutes peak, 3000 night&wknd (which start at 8 p.m.), $39.99/month, free nationwide long distance, home area from Maine to Delaware, no activation fee. (If you sign up for the one year plan, it is 400 peak, and a $35 activation fee, everything else same)
Here is the best part.. The guy was charging $50 for the Motorola V60t, which is a $300+ phone with Cingular or Verizon. Since we bought three new plans, he hooked us each up with this phone for FREE!!! Now, your mileage may vary depending on how many you get, but even for $50 this is an unbelievable price for this AWESOME phone.
I know some of you have heard bad things about AT&T service, as did I, but I decided to give it a shot since their is a 30 day money back guarantee. (All you pay is the first month bill). So far it has been the same, if not a little better than my Cingular service. The only thing is, AT&T and Cingular both use the TDMA network, which is inferior to both CDMA (Verizon) and GSM (Voicestream). If you are currently a Verizon customer, you may not want to do this, but it is a MUST for current Cingular subscribers.
AT&T also offers a real online website, where you can check/pay your bill, add/remove features to your calling plan, etc.
And other good news is that AT&T will be converting to a GSM network nationwide by 2002 end, and you will have the option to switch to that service when it is launched in your area.
I dont know about you guys, but next to the Ericsoon T68(GSM only) that is slowly reaching our market, this is by far the best phone out there right now. Very good looking phone, small, lightweight, and tons of features. I was personally not a big Motorola fan until this V series phone came out. Nokia has been lagging lately, and the only good phones they come out with are for the European GSM market. AND, This phone has a true 3 hour talk time, as a friend of mine who bought this a few months ago claims.
I think this is ONE SMOKING HOT DEAL, and if you are in the Jersey area and looking for a new wireless plan, this is the one to jump on.
Not sure when this promotion ends...
