I'm in Nashville, TN and my cricket gets lousy reception in my new apartment. Been looking for a new phone/service that is better.

Any optinions on the Family plan they offer? It's looking pretty sweet. Any opinions on VoiceStream in general (in the Nashville, TN area)?

I am so sick of getting screwed out of phone deals! When I signed up for Voicestream, they had no deals and wouldn't even sell any of the cool phones (like this one or the T39/T68). Now that I'm in a contract, I could get any of the cools ones I wanted. It isn't fair.

what is the difference between the home calling area and the regional roaming area? do you get charged roaming charges for the regional area? i'm thinking about jumping on this, but the home calling area pretty much follows just the interstates where i'm at, and i'm off those a bit because of my job. the regional area covers everywhere where i might be though. where can i find the contract terms, cancellation fee, etc stuff too?

also, does anyone know how goo voicestream is in the mid-michigan area? still looks like a good deal, esp since i missed the att offer last week

u can get it for $20 maybe $0 from staples if u can use the $50 off coupon YMMV

w/ 2 yr plan from cingular i think i am gonna try and pick one up today at my staples I dont like VS because they dont count nights as off peak only weekends and i dont need that many minutes and those plans are CA only

Here's a question for you guys. I really like this phone and want to take part in this deal from Amazon. As of now, I am using voicestream and really like their customer service. Reception has been a little fuzzy from time to time when I'm on the road, but overall not bad at all. So anyway, my voicestream 1 -year contract ends on the 18th of August. Is there anyway, I can still take part in this deal by saying I want to re-activate so I get the new phone. If anyone has any experience with this please tell me. Also, do these cell phone companies just end your service completely at the end of your contract or do you have to contact them? Thanks, any input would be helpful

you could just get a 2nd contract but I guess you dont want to do that because you will be paying for an extra month of service?

I think your best bet is to contact VS and tell them what you want and ask them if there is anything you can do

Wow, I never even thought of checking Staples. I'm not sure if Staples carries Cingular in NYC since the company just launched their service here this month, but I'll check it out. Does anyone know if you can actually use coupons on cell phones & service at Staples?

so is this a good deal or not? it sounds like its a good phone and all, and i'm looking at the 600mins and unlim weekends. but i read that weekends are from 12:01am sat to midnight sunday. not as good as the unlim nights and weekends from verizon it seems. i do'nt think i'd go through 600 mins a month (thats like 20 a day, and i'm no way on the phone that much), but still, it'd be nice to have nights and weekends without a hassle. where do i find out what the limitations, roaming is? on the map on amazon, a good chunk of where i'll be is likely in the "regional roaming" area. on amazon it says that calls here are deducted from your minutes as normal...its just not on the digital home area, so it sounds like i might not get voicemail access there or something. but then map on voicestreams page (which is a deal crappier than amazons) says something about the regional area "doesn't cost you to call from your digital home". so what happens if i'm making calls from the regional area? it says no roaming or long distance charges, but is that only if you're in your limited "digital home" area? still not sure if i should jump on this or not...guess i have a few days

there are different variants of the phone the AT&T version does not have a browser

-I'm not an expert on this, but I assume VoiceStream meant that it's not combinable with any other VS rebate offer. I think Amazon's is its own deal.

-The 3000 min plan is regional, basically great plan if you stay in CA and NV (charged roaming and LD outside of these 2 states. The 1000 min plan is nationwide (free LD and roaming anywhere), so good if you are a big traveler. Try VoiceStream's website for more details on plans.

this isn't just for the CA and NV areas though is it? i walked through the stuff on amazon and can get voicestream service, 600 anytime/unlim weekends for 40/mo i think in michigan. are t-mobile and voicestream separate, cuz voicestream.com has different plans and such than the t-mobile.com link. i'm prolly just gonna have to call a rep or something. my michigan regional map on amazon has their digital coverage (which looks like the same shown for t-mobiles map) where i'll be most of the time, but its pretty much just along the freeways. some ofthe time i'll be in what they call on amazon the "regional roaming" area, which may or may not incur LD and roaming charges. very confusing. anyone have experience with voicestream in the midmichigan area by anychance? epinions sucks....

But the funny part is, I wanted to take $29 plan "VoiceStream Wireless iSTREAM Talk & Text Nationwide Plan, 1 Year Agreement" which gives 1MB of wireless web. This plan does not appear if you chose v60g. Nor does v60g come as an option if this plan is chosen first.

Last week I bought samsung Q105 with this exact same plan. I plan to return Q105 and buy this instead, if I can get the VoiceStream plan with iSTREAM included. I've agian written to amazon CustRep. Lets see ....

From what I remember when I got an AT&T phone thru amazon, when you get the phone, you call VoiceStream to set up your account, and you can pick the type of rate plan you want (I think you can pick the iSTREAM type plan you want). I'm not sure how this affects the amazon rebate though, i think you will be OK because I think they just want to see activation on your first bill for the amazon rebate. Double check though.

i'm pretty sure the FREE long distance and roaming is in the coverage area, NOT just in california
