I saw the Verizon version in their Store Monday. It happened to be the first day they had it. I was eligible for a new phone, but wasn't going to pay $199 when Cingular has it for less than $100. The Verizon phone is not the same as the Cingular phone, though. First off it's CDMA rather than GSM, Plus, it has the removable miniSD storage capability. The screen is the Verizon "customized" screen eliiminating some of the features that are on the Cingular phone. You really can't compare the Verizon signal capabilty to the Cingular's. But, as usual, Verizon is selling a slightly crippled version of the phone.
Take a close look at the Amazon rebate. It applies to only the primary phone line. I have the account, but my wife's phone is the primary line. I got her a new LG9800 on Monday to replace the Piece of S**t Samsung she has been suffering through for the last year. IWe only able to "upgrade" her's after one year becasue she has the primary line. I, personally, will never get anything but a Motorola phone. My son has had problems with two LG's (my wife wanted the 9800, I tried to push her to the other Motorola), and I've had problems with Audiovox. My son is now on his second Treo 600 (first died and was replaced under warranty) My own Motorola is a V60i, 4 years old, and I have had no problems with it even after bouncing it off concrete a few times.
I'm going to wait till Verizon has the Razr for under a hundred. I want the bluetooth and expect that my next car will support bluetooth.
12/16 The info on the miniSD card came from a review of the phone linked thru cellphone-reviews.org (couldn't find it this morning) that noted that the addtion of the miniSD slot on the Verizon version was a notable improvement over the earlier Cingular Razrs. I didn't look for the slot when I saw the phone on Monday.
