The Motorola E815 is supposedly one of the best Verizon phones put out to date. I have the Motorola V710 (the older brother) and I like it. Supposedly all of the bugs and nuisances from the V710 have been corrected in the E815. Not to mention, both the V710 and E815 are some of the best phones for reception!

Definitely a hot deal as the E815 goes for about $99 w/ activation from what I've seen.

You still have to get a new activation with Verizon. My phone is busted and is verizon, can I get a rebate in any way with this deal?

when did you buy the phone?
If its within the time period that the rebate form allows, and if u still have the original receipt...i think u can get the rebate.
HOWEVER, the 150 rebate is for buying from Buy.com ONLY...so u had to have bought it from thre.
You may get the 50 verizon Rebate though

I don't know I'm on a piggyback plan with my stepfather. I have to call and ask him. So if it's outside of the 1st year this may be legit?

yup... IF ur contract is only 1 yr long.
Also, if you wanna buy it online..you will need to buy it NEW with a NEW contract. so find out if ur current plan is not under contract. then u can cancel ur current, and buy this.

If u still wanna shared plan, u will need to cancel ur current, buy this contract, then add a line for ur stepfather with the same phone he has.

I have this phone and both the video and still camera "loads" faster than any other phone I've tried. Speakerphone quality is good and Voice Command rocks. Still picture quality and videos are better than most phones. Still, here are some things to consider:

1) Bluetooth is intentionally handicapped by Verizon (but you can hack this).
2) The manuals that come with this phone are useless. For example, the manual doesn't tell you how to activate "Car Mode" (I still haven't figured out how) or what all the Voice Commands are. I did figure out that if you have the phone flipped closed and you want to ignore an incoming call without flipping it open, you have to press the volume down button. The call will continue to ring in silence (it won't make the caller go to voice mail right away).
3) The battery indicator only goes in 2's. It goes from 6 to 4 to 2 then 0. If your battery indicator is saying "2", then you have no idea whether it's just gone down to 2 or whether it a sliver away from 0.
4) No analog roaming.
5) Verizon never got VCast to work on my phone. Funny thing is, a lot of the Verizon stores I went to also couldn't get VCast to work on their floor models either.
6) I got the Motorola stereo headset for the phone (if you add a memory card, you can use it as an MP3 player) that let's you converse in stereo (the other person's voice comes through both ear buds). Nice bass. The silver button on the headset activates Voice Command, so you can initiate phone calls without ever touching your phone. Unfortunately, that same button doesn't hang up the phone. To hang up, you'll have to pick up your phone, flip it open, and hit the hang-up button.
7) If you've taken a 1.3MP picture on the camera, the phone doesn't allow you to zoom in. This can get annoying if you take a nice picture but everyody's face is squished into that tiny screen and you can't zoom in.

That said, it's probably still the best Verizon phone. Too bad it's not made in the U.S.A.

I have the v710... The two best features of the phone are by far the bluetooth, and the voice recognition... Pretty tough too

Only thing I don't like about the e815 is the size. If it were the size of the a670, it would be perfect.

This'd be hot if Verizon didn't cripple phones so they can gank money out of you to send pictures and ringtones to yourself.

They crippled file transfer from that as well. They might not have gotten to the 815 yet, but I know the recent firmware revisions of the 710 are boned.

Just hack the phone to uncripple it. There are "fixes" for the e815 already.

but i think you cannot not use the bluetooth as a modem connection like you can with the 710 can this be "fixed" as well?
