HOT!! Monivison 30" widescreen HDTV/monitor $775

If you know anything about the Monivison brand, this is smoking! Essentially they are high grade computer monitors that can also be used as a TV if an additional 'Vision Box' is installed. (You still need a HDTV tuner for HDTV broadcasts.)

The model number is DM-6552SW. Here's the kicker - this monitor comes WITH the Vison Box (provides NTSC tuner, Composite, Component -Full resolution, VGA). Normally this add-on alone would jump the price up to $1400+ EASY. These are suppoed to be new in box as well.

That's a great deal.. The site that this deal is linked from is a high end home theater supplier.

But, if you buy this TV, do yourself a favor and pick up an HDTV receiver to drive it with. DVD's can't do it justice. You need HD resolutions to show it's potential.

Eh - from the specs sheet it looks like one of their HQs is in CA, does that mean CA residents have to also pay tax for this?

dang! that would make a nice replacement for my 32" sony trinitron (non-wega)... would make it a lot easier to hook up my pc to the monitor so I can watch my downloaded/ripped movies. 😛

I saw this at AVSForum, and it does look like a really nice deal, that is one great tube. FYI though, its not flat, there's some curve to it.

hate to thread crap...but monovision customer service/RMA sucks big time!!!! If you want a company that is helpful and stands behind their products, dont buy this
