The X-Box wont be emulated anytime soon simply because the DVD format they use is similar to the GD-ROM format that Sega used. So far, it can't be easily read like a Sony PS2 disc. If you can't read the game data, you can't use an emulator to play the games, simple as that. I'm not saying it won't be done, I'm just saying I don't think it will happen very soon (like in the next few months).

$245.00 is a really hot deal for the X-Box, especially considering it just came out. The sheer amount of features included with the X-Box (hard drive, DD5.1, Ethernet) should make this a steal assuming that games will support the features (although the hard drive and DD5.1 features have been pretty well supported in launch games).

...Not to mention the fact that the X-Box is running an OS that MS can upgrade or change at any time without your permission (Check the X-Box license agreement) to thwart hackers and such. Since MS is the only producer of X-Box DVD game media and all 3 party companies deveoping games must submit their source code to MS for duplication, the potential of pirating X-Box sorce code for emulation is almost impossible. As soon as a hack is released, MS simply has to change the OS and/or the DVD software to conteract the hack. the real question is will this type of activity drive gamers away from the system. IMO if the X-Box is not effectibly hacked in the next three months, you will see both Sony and Nintendo adopting the MS strategy in their future game systems.

I placed my order on 12/30, got the $250 gift on 12/31 but still havent received the free $50. Called and they said there were a lot of people taking advantage of the order and I should get it in the next few business days. Anyone else experiencing delays?

Heyyyy!!! I just got the free $50 SC :)

ScuzSter - You need to order KBToys Gift Cards w/ your SuperCertificates and wait for the GC's to arrive via snail mail. So we need to wait more. By the time they may have it back in stock...

Actually I already bought an Xbox from KBToys 10 days ago... I am just gonna order a new one with my GC's and return the sealed one back instead of the old one which I paid 295 + s/h...

<< NOT TO WORRY GUYS! I'm was in the same situation as you guys, I ordered on the 29th, and only got the $250. I emailed them Monday complaining that I didn't get the bonus $50, I called them and emailed them about this. This morning, the sweet $50 Supercertificate was in my Inbox, so I redeemed it for KBtoys as I had already done with the $250 earlier!!! Man this is a SCORCHER of a deal, the Xbox won't be this cheap for a long time, thanks guys!

falconx80, why don't you stop trolling around in this forum. People are talking about giftcertificates, and you're talking about emulators. Let me you give you the 411, I own a fast PC (19" Trinitron, GeforceIIGTS) and nothing I've played even comes close to the graphics of the Xbox, and by the way, I will be getting my RADEON 8500 graphics card today, so I will have one of the fastest PCs gamewise you can get. Now about emulators, where's the emulator for the 2 year old Dreamcast? Its PC based (PowerVR 2) and yet I don't see any emulators, how about the PS2, they have one for the PS1 but why not the PS2? And thirdly, the Xbox is not just a PC, its graphics card is superior to any PC graphics card available today (it has 2 Vertex + Pixel shaders compared to Geforce 3's 1 Vertex +Pixel Shader). And how many games on the PC so far have taken advantage of Vertex and Pixel Shaders? NONE! And how many on the Xbox? Probably 10 or 12! And this despite the fact that the Geforce 3 has been out way longer than the Xbox. There's PC gaming for you, it takes a year for a game to come out to properly utilize the latest technology, while platforms games always utilize every bit of it. There's nothing like playing a game in front of a nice big tv with awesome home theatre system, with a bunch of your budies, you simply can't do that on your PC. And finally, what PC can you get for $244 with Dolby Digital encoding in games, dvd playback, the worlds most advanced Video card, 10 gig hd, 10/100 ethernet, and upcoming games like Metal Gear Solid, Tony Hawk 3, Halo, Panzer Dragoon, Crazy Taxi sequel, Ridge Racer 6, NBA 2K2 etc. ? You can't.

Sorry for the long post, as a PC and Platform gamer, I had to set the record straight.
