Correct me if i'm worng but usually if you live in the same state that the vendor is from you pay tax. But if it's in a different state then its tax free :)

Or you'd pay taxes if your shipping zip code is in the state(s) where the retailer(s) has its presence.

Wrong. Its not tax-free. Because the vendor does not have a physical business presense in your state it is not required to collect taxes on behalf of the state/city/etc. Most states/municipalities suggest that as individuals we should report our online purchases and pay applicable sales tax.

Yeah. I do that. Yeah.

dew.

Picked up a X2 4200+ for 390+tax, so I saved a few bucks instead of Newegg, 400+tax+.99 shipping. I did pick up a returned ABIT AN8 SLI for 84.99 that had a 30.00 rebate, (55.00 after rebate). Total for the combo was 475 plus tax with the 30.00 rebate, 445 plus tax. Same combo at Newegg was 546 plus tax. Good deal at Microcenter for a change.

Since I don't feel like driving all the way down to Irvine, I'll just have one of the local Fry's pricematch it. Good deals, though.
