If you find online coupons, small business discounts, etc, you can get some huge displays for cheap!

It's HOT but will get HOTTER comes around Black Friday if you can hold out that long for a big new and nice display like the 3007 like myself.
Dell who has had some disappointed earnings lately and need to get itself back to the top after losing its #1 position as the world PC maker to who else, HP.
So look for dell to do some drastical shakeup and price cuts comes around later this year.

YES, you can use some 20% off coupon codes with the 20" and 24" monitors, but not the 30". ;)

Using a 20% off code I knocked the price down to $640 shipped for the 2407WFP. It arrived today via DHL :D

I'd give out the code I used, but it expired last night at midnight. eBay has more of them though if you can't find any elsewhere.

Don't forget to consider getting the Completecare accidental damage coverage for these monitors.

 agreed

Me 3. And that I have only AGP, so it would be prohibitively expensive to upgrade.

EDIT: Of course, I had to go and look, and I'm finding X1600Pros and 7600GSs and GTs with dual-link DVI. ::smacks head::

what exactly is the Completecare accidental damage coverage

CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service covers repair and replacement for various accidental damage, not covered under limited warranty1, including spills, drops, surges, and breakage to select systems or peripherals.2 It is not available in all states.

Examples of some of the un-intentional damage that are covered are:

Cause of Failure Resolution Description

Liquid spilled on or in unit Repaired or unit replaced3
Drops, falls, and other collisions Repaired or unit replaced
Electrical surge Repaired or unit replaced
Damaged or broken LCD due to a drop or fall Repaired
Accidental breakage (multiple pieces) Repaired or unit replaced

Damage caused by intentional acts, fire, theft or loss, is not covered under CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service1. Some examples of damage that would NOT be covered are:

Cause of Failure Resolution Description

Damaged in a fire Not covered ? insurance coverage
Intentional damage (hammer marks) Not covered ? user responsible
Stolen unit Not covered ? insurance coverage
Normal wear (does not affect system performance) Not covered
Consumables (batteries, bulbs) Not covered

If an incident occurs, call the Dell technical support line to report the problem. After answering a series of questions, Dell can initiate the appropriate repair or replacement services, which may include shipment of replacement parts, shipment of the damaged product to a Dell repair facility, or a whole unit exchange procedure.

I believe most of you in this thread are confusing "dual link DVI" with "dual DVI outputs." A dual link DVI monitor has to have a card and cable that is also dual link. Instead of using half the pins in the cable, card, and monitor, it uses all of them. If you notice, a lot of DVI cables appear to have pins "missing." This is simply a "single link" DVI. Most modern video cards have dual link DVI. If the card has multiple DVI outputs, there is a chance that only one of them is a dual link with the other one being single link.

Summary: Dual Link DVI DOES NOT mean two DVI outputs.

Adams, that is a good post. I already had to look that up myself, I currently have no clue if my Powercolor 9600XT is dual or single link DVI... but it is running the 2707WFP at native res just fine.

Indeed. The 7600GS and GT that I mentioned to indeed exist in dual link (as well as dual dvi) forms. Even so, it still means spending more money, and for a powerhouse card, even more than that.

You only need it for the 30". The 24" is fine with single link.

You can get an additional 4% off with a Dell Preferred Account(found this at Fatwallet.com)

  1. At the payment screen choose Pay with credit card.
Then there is a little blurb on the screen where you put in the CC info about 4% with DPA. click on that.
Then on the right hand side of the DPA screen there is something about "already have a DPA account?", click on that.
Used to be only 3%. Thanks Dell!

Anyone found any double-stack coupons?

Not yet. Note that "fatcash" (fatwallet offers it) gives you essentially an automatic 3% rebate as well, IIRC.

I believe you can, however it will be 20% off of the original price, not the discounted one.

In other words for the 2407 it will be 20% off from $799. And you can't use it on the 3007

You won't be doing any 3D gaming on the 3007 with a 7600 series card. :D
