I've been using the MX700 for about 6 months, and replaced swapped back to my old cheapo chorded optical. I find the chordless mice are fine for general use, but stink for gaming. I don't know how many times I've gotten fragged cause my mouse batteries were low. I'm thinking hard about this deal, but a chorded version of the MX1000 laser jobby is supposed to be coming out soon...but can I resist...
 
Argh.. I was forced to buy a Red camaro when I really wanted a blue one... No way in hell I'm settling for a red mouse!

I concur. I really don't like wireless mice for gaming because of the reasons you stated, they are great for regular use however.
