Here's the deal folks, CompUSA has the ATI brand Radeon 9700pro advertised for $349.99 with a $50 instant rebate. Go to BB which has also marked it down to $349.99 and use your 10% off coupon for another $35 off. Total cost for the card is $315, cheaper than you'll find anywhere online for a REAL ATI Radeon 9700pro retail. Then use whatever GC's you got for X-mas to make this deal even HOTTER :D :D :D

Enjoy!!!

Well I guess no one thinks this is hot :)

Anyways, I just got one, BB has marked them down to $349.99 as a pre-emptive price match to CompUSA, so you don't even need to PM. Just show them your 10% off coupon, use any GC, and have a brand new 9700pro in your hands. I only paid ~$200 out of pocket, I had around $130 in GC's that needed to be spent :D

That will never happen, the 9700 is very expensive to make....in a year you might get an offbrand 9700 Pro for around $150 at best but I bet it will never go under $200.

Yep, they will just stop making them and replace them with RX00. You might be able to find one in a year on Egay for less than $100 but I doubt it, GF3's are barely under $100, and they are almost 2 years old. Plus it'll have been passed around more than the gravy tray at Thanksgiving.

well ti4200s are selling for $100 now. the 9700 pro costs the same to make as the 9700. the 9700which shouldnt be much more than the 9500pro.

either way, with a shrink down to .13 a 9700 equivalent card should be around $150 in a year retail and just watch there will be some sort of deal that makes it $90.

as it is right now, you can buy refurb 9700s pros by sapphire (who builds all the red colored cards anyways, so its just an ATI) for $240 at newegg. i bought a 9700 pro used on fs/ft for $200 2 weeks ago. so definitely i see 9700 pros being had for $130 used in a year from today.

Is this 10% coupon another mailing that Best Buy sent out recently? Or is there a printable coupon somewhere?

TIA

I was just at MicroCenter in Santa Clara yesterday. They are having 20% off all ATI video cards. I saw about 3 retail ATI 9700 Pro for $319.20 left. The best part is that you don't have to wait for rebates. They also have the deal online. Since Microcenter still had some in stock yesterday, you could get BB to PM this for a better deal. Or, for those who hate rebates, $319.20 is a good price.

Heres the link: linky

Or you can just buy an OEM board online, pay less shipping than you would pay taxes (mWave.com has them for $312, and I'm sure some shady companies sell it for even less). And you won't have to deal with the morons working at BestBuy ("Sir, you can't find a laptop battery? Yeah, we have those, I don't know exactly where... Check the PART OF THE STORE WHERE WE SELL COMPUTERS").

Um yah whatever, will Mwave take my $125 in GC's? I didn't think so. I'd still be waiting for the card if I ordered online, but instead I drove 2 miles to my BB and picked it up. Thanks!

Last Day bump....with all the horror stories about underclocked and locked OEMs and non-pros...here's a chance to get a bonafide ATI Pro with those GC's you got laying around.

Bump for good deal, especially for people who have Best Buy gift cards they need to use, or who are more comfortable with B&M for expensive stuff. Thanks, Chizow.
