There's a 15% at coupon-codes.net

The 25% is listed, but expired yesterday. I just tried it and it didn't work.

+$10 shipping, so the total is about $68.

Still hot? Compared with other retailers, it's pretty good (vs. @$99).

Myself and 2 sons have been using Epson printers for the last 3 years (850, two 860's, 880). Never a breakdown, nor any clogged heads for us. We use generic inks. I believe Epson makes a very good inkjet printer.

A lot of people have been mentioning this "Jetprint" paper. Can you purchase it from a regular stationary store? Is it a exclusive brand? Does it work better than the Epson paper? One more thing, I have narrowed it down to the Epson 780 and the Canon S800 - any votes? 😉

I got in on this deal and am really impressed with the printer. I'm upgrading from an Epson 740 and really notice the difference. I use a laser printer for text, so this is really a photo only printer for me. I like it and for $62 shipped.... can't beat it.

I do have to comment on the paper though... maybe I got a bad batch or something, but the Jet Print paper I used (4x6 premium photo paper) is in no way equal to or better than the epson brand photo paper. It doesn't even compare. And that's the cheap epson photo paper, I haven't even tried the premium glossy, colorlife, or professional papers.

So if you have this printer and are still looking for the Jet Print paper, go to staples and buy as small a pack as you can to test it out... I know that mine is going back tomorrow so I can get my $7.20 back.

I wish I had a scanner so I could post the differences.... I'll never buy Jet Print again, that's for sure.

Staples.
Epson 780.

This deal is still good...the # of the product has changed though. the new product # is 934-729. The 25% coupon is gone but there is a $15 off $20 coupon which rbings the price to $53.50.

I would probably stick with the canon and stay away from Epson at all cost.. I have bought 2 printers from them in the past and have regreated both times.. Never again will I ever buy an Epson product, simply because they suck. They are loud.... they are slow... they break down easily.... I currently own a HP 990Cse ... its quiet and its fast! havent had a problem yet

Sweet deal. I got it for $63.xx with shipping using the $15 off $20 coupon. I saw the mention of Megatoners for refilled carts that have chips (looks good, $10 for black, $10 for color).

What's the deal with 6 colors though? The ink cart at Megatoners looks like 3 colors? Or is it a 6 colors with the other 3 hiding behind the first row?

Wahoo... Can't wait to print out some of my 1,600+ pictures I've taken over the last 7 months 🙂.

That's the thing about this stuff KENDOGG... once you've been burned by a product you never want to get burned again. I have bought 2 HP printers in the past and they were very loud and broke down right after the warranty expired... I have never had any troubles with epson printers and will never buy an HP again because THEY suck! 🙂

Things work differently for everyone I guess. My vote would be for the epson vs canon, I don't think you can beat epson quality photo prints with any consumer printer... of course that's just my opinion.

The 25% off coupon is back! Save a bit more than two bucks versus the $15 off $20 coupon. See this thread at FatWallet.com.

Got mine too! Love it! I've been an HP printer fan all my life, but decided to give the Epson a try. The photo quality is much better than HP. Though it comes close, HP always tends to give this slightly pixelated printed output that my eyes always sink into to find.

I have the 780 photo, for photos you can't tell the difference between prints and film (at 720dpi and above).

As to the chip conversation - it is simple to reset those chips from "empty" to full (empty means there is about 20% of your ink left - typically I reset mine when they read empty and I can get a bunch more prints out of it). See this link, it does work:

Resetting Epson Photo chips the easy way

I haven't bought any refill kits yet or generic cartridges (I haven't researched it enough to find the lowest prices). But when I do this process will carry me through without having to buy chip resetting tools etc.

I also use an A/B switch so I can do all my basic printing on an older HP Deskjet printer (ink is far cheaper when using refills) and just switch to the Epson when I want to print photos.

Hope this helps you guys!

P.S. You can order inks from the Epson store online for like $19 each (color) and that is shipped for free. They are fast, no more than 3 days wait to Chicago.

Wahoo. Got mine. My third try at printing was the charm. Beautiful! The quality is amazing. I almost can't believe you can have this neat little printer for this price sitting on your desktop!

Bumping as this deal is still going on.

edit: oh yeah, we need photo paper! post those deals! Staples has 100 sheets for $20.99 but I need coupons or something!

i've had this printer since the summer and i love it. best photo printer for the price, in my opinion. the chip is annoying, but you can get generic cartridges (ink is just as good) for $10 a piece at megatoners.com.

<< Is this the same as This Printer Here The Epson 785 EXP? Also, how is text look on this thing or is it strictly for photos? >>

I think they both use the same print heads. I think the text is pretty good (I'm coming from an HP 680c inkjet) but people have complained about it - maybe the complainers are used to laser jet output?

Anyone get yours yet? Mine has says shipped since like 2 mondays ago ( 2weeks ago) and I still have not received it. Anyone??

Jaybert,

It takes forever from HSN. I ordered mine near the begining of December and had to wait until mid January before it came. 4 - 5 weeks for me.

where can i buy premium glossy photo paper or just photo paper for cheap (epson brand)? The Costco link is outdated. Thanks so much for any info.

I bought one of these printers. Great photo printer. The photos look like commercial prints on the glossy photo paper. It only took me 7 days to get my printer out here in California. It came US Postal. Good deal, good price. And it even looks very well built. It came with a USB cable and some sample photo paper. Thanks for the deal.

This printer rocks, especially for photos. BUT it's the WORST ink hog I've ever seen in my whole life. If your looking to print highest quality 4x6 using the option which make it so your pictures won't have a white border. You'll get Maybe 8 pictures MAX out of the color cartridge. If you pay $30 for the cartridge thats nearly $4 per picture, not including paper costs.
It's not really worth it.....
