Thanks for ruining my weekend. I just spent the whole week telling myself not to remove my HSF from my new 1600+ because I didn't have much AS2 left and I didn't really need to unlock the multiplier. Now that I've got a fresh tube of AS3 on the way how can I not pop off the Heatsink, unlock the cpu, and reapply with AS3??!

I've always found good prices @ bestbyte.net -- they had the cheapest price on an SLK-800 copper heatsink for awhile as well.
 
Yep, 6g is an even better deal if you need it. (Though to those unexperienced at this: You probably don't need it. You use a very small amount.)

Thanks for the heads up on this! I have a tube on the way. Just a quick question along these lines. What is the best way to clean (remove) the old transfer paste to ensure the silver in the new paste will get into all of the "nooks and crannies"? Any help would be great! Thanks.
 
Both SVCompucycle and BestByte offer good price and excellent service. Time to get dump my AS2 and get a tube of AS3. 🙂

I tried to add a <$1 connector into the cart along with the Artic Silver and they increased the freight from $0 to $5.00!!

I did the same with the supplier referenced below and they increased freight by a mere $.50. (first class postage rates)

Not everything has to go UPS or USPS. I wish more parts suppliers would figure out how to put this small stuff in an envelope and charge first class postage rates.
