I was at Target in Maple Grove last night and on the end of the phone isle, I saw a TI-89 on clearance for $74.88! :Q I believe it also came with the USB Graph-Link cable.

I was going to buy it and eBay it, but decided against it right now. So I figured I'd post it here for someone else to enjoy! :D

I can't believe they had it for that price. I wonder if someone screwed up and marked the 89 down but it was supposed to be something else.

Arguably the best/most versatile graphing calculator for secondary school/college use.

Also, most simple questions can be answered using what we like to call a search.

I agree... this calculator got me from algebra 2 in high school through experienced calculus at my college... You can play games on it too.... it was my pda before pda's existed/ cost too much...

This is a super hot deal if you are in a math class... it graphs in 2 and 3 dimensions! also solves multi-variable caluculus problems! the only non-qwerty calc to do so!

I can't wait for my Target to put this calculator on clearance. I really need to replace my old (but reliable... sorta) TI-81 from 7 years ago. C'mon Target of Seattle!

But it is not clearance priced on their website so you may have to take a stroll to the store.

Every time I think about this, I can't understand why they are giving this away. It's not like it's old or outdated. Maybe they decided to stop carrying it. I thought I noticed that it had been marked down once before. Maybe I'll have to stop there and se if they have anymore. I can buy them all! :p

I got mine for that price 2 years ago... price mistake at office depot I think though - I love the thing - definately helped me through calc =) At that price it's definately worth it if you need to take calc in the near (or semi-distant) future...

It's not a mistake at Target. It was marked down to that price at 1 store in my area over 2 months ago. It hasn't dropped any further. Maybe the other stores are finally gonna mark it down.

I both love and hate this calculator, it got me through HS Calc easily. However because of the TI-89 and the HP49G no caculaters have been allowed in any of my college classes. I never realized how much of a crutch it was, I bascially had to go back and relearn integration and differentiation techniques.

All stores may not mark this down. Like I said earlier only one store out of the 6 near me have marked it down. The others still have it full price.

You can't use QWERTY calcs on the SAT's. This is hot. I love mine. I even overclocked it. :)

Edit: BTW I'm pretty sure I saw this at OD the other day for $109.xx if you can't get the target deal and need one.

I'm a senior math major in college. I use my TI-89 on a daily basis...its very good for almost anything...except for graphing large multidementional funtions...then you use a comp.

Wow aren't you being a little snippy. ;) I only use calculators that have numbers on them. Anything more complex that that and my brain is overclocked.
