I went up to CompUSA today at lunch to check and see if I could pick up one of those 208 CD Wallets for $9.99. Well, of course, they're sold out, it was the biggest seller on Sunday other than the $50 monitors. Well, I went to the serivce desk and asked if I could get a raincheck. The guy informed me that there are no rainchecks on this item, and I asked him to point out to me in the ad where it says that. After 5 minutes of searching, he couldn't find anything stating no rainchecks, so he called over his supervisor. The supervisor said they had no way to provide a raincheck to me, so I asked him what he could do for me instead. The guy was really cool and told me to go back and pick up the 208 CD Binder case that was $29.99 and he would give it to me for $9.99. So I did, and he did. The SKU on the CD Binder is 292010, and when I get home this afternoon where I can reach my scanner, I'll scan a copy of the receipt and post it online for people if they want to print it out and take it to the store to see if they'll pricematch it. I did this at the CompUSA just outside the Park Meadows Mall in Englewood, CO. Hopefully others can benefit from this and get a nicer case for $29.99 in the process. I'll post the reciept as soon as I can once I'm at home this afternoon. Good luck!

Update:

Crap, I just realized that he input the SKU for the CD Wallet that was out of stock when he sold me the binder. Not only does this mean it'll be useless for me to scan the receipt, it means if this thing is defective in any way, I don't have a receipt with the actual item to take it back to exchange. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up, I hope this thing doesn't break or anything since I have no receipt to return it. Otherwise, maybe someone else can go in and bug them and get the same deal

Serendipity! I went to the CompUSA in Deerfield Beach, FL, on my lunch break today to pick up a few of these...I just pulled them out of the bag and realized that one of the three (which appears to be a higher quality item, but they told me this was the one on sale ;-) has a $5 manufacturer rebate (although there is no expiration date printed, which seems odd) AND when I opened the wallet...there was a little clipwatch thing...a little watch that hooks onto your belt or whatnot.

DEAL!

The other two lack these perks!

In case anyone lives near the Parsippany, NJ CompUSA. They had about 3-5 on Wednesday. They were hidden on top of the wall display on the right side of the store, back by the MACS.

The thing is that I should knwo what they look like.. I mean the ones which are on sale this week. I went to the store in NYC.. I eached there at 7:53am expecting them to open at 8:00 ! At 8:00 the doors were locked and I was trying to see if they have a display telling me about the time they open. But nada... wasn't any at the enterance door ! There was one kind lady walking... she told me that they open at 8:30am !

Can someoen please confirm if they DO let you buy another one for 9.99 or do they HAVE TO give a raincheck in case the one advertised is not in stock ?

Yes, the BETTER ONE is the one on sale... they didn'r mark them as being in sale. They were under the NEW ITEMS sign in my store.

If you looked by the CD storage products you would see the one that is $9.99 - this is the regular price for this one (and not a bad deal).

The 29.99 one for 9.99 is a GREAT VALUE. They only had black at my store. I would have likes a silver.
