It's always good to indicate that such devices play MP3's.. so that the thread will appear in search results :)

A few words of caution: the 1gb iRiver player I returned came with the absolute worst software in the history of the world, and that was the only way to get music onto the player (four clicks per file); it was *not* plug and play. Windows did *not* natively recognize it as an external hard drive. But I'm not sure about this one. Maybe someone here can definitively say.

They aren't plug n' play like past iriver players which is really stupid. However most people have had no problems with the software or WMP and those that did had faulty players. After a return everything was smooth. There is also a UMS trick (which means plug n play) that I'm not so sure how to do but is somewhere at www.misticriver.net if anybody wants to check.

Great player and the price makes this really hot!

By plug n play I mean it's automatically installed as an external hdd (no software needed). You can only drag n drop from WMP out of the box. Drag n drop from explorer or any app you want is something older irivers have but not the h10. American players are the ones I'm talking about here, as Korean and the rest of the world's players are fully UMS, and are just read as an external hdd. Iriver Plus works with all of them, which is great for syncing, auto updates, and playlist building.

I don't know what you mean by "you're wrong" as none of this info is inaccurate in my post. Maybe I'm being unclear or something.

My H10 was instantly recognized as an external HDD. I could browse it from Windows Explorer and copy music to it

In order to have drag and drop functionality, you must have Windows Media Player 10 installed.

But it won't PLAY the music you copy to it that way. My Samsung YH-999 Portable Media Center is the same way (And similarly uses WMP10, supports Napster to Go, etc)

What do you mean? It does play it just fine. Install drivers>update WMP 10.0>presto! you can now drag-n-drop files into /MUSIC directory on H10 using Windows Explorer.

Reliable? How about a 2.78 six month Reseller rating.

Maybe you should have checked that before you crapped in Dragon41673's thread yesterday (which the mods have now removed).
