I've been torn between this netbook and the lenovo s10. The s10e can be had for $299 right now, so that may make this deal a bit less sweet, but I still like the HP... great keyboard, great simple build, nice looks, VERY slimline (might be the slimmest right now)

How is the HP 1035NR for $404 plus tax a good deal?

for starters, this is the cheapest price it can be found... and it's local.

i thought about getting the HP.

some cons about the mini 1000 are it uses a 1.8" pata disk so it is slower. that and the glossy plastic looks tacky.

the 2140 uses an aluminum case, with durakeys, and 2.5" sata drives which is its main difference (and they offer a 1366x768 in march ). i think the 2140 might have an expresscard slot too (the 2133 did)

Definitely get the Lenovo. It uses a regular laptop SATA drive. The HP uses a 1.8 inch 4200 rpm drive.....so it is uber slooooooww.
