Thump553,

Thanks, I had different reports from different people. Some people were actually charged the extra $50 and then Amazon told them to refuse the package when it arrives as it had already been shipped. Many people have already received their DVD players! I guess I'll have to wait and see what happened.

they won't let me checkout because I had too many Promotional GCs...I thought if it doesn't apply it won't let me go through checkout? darn it!

I checked last sunday's sales add for this particular DVD Player(DVDRV30) and at both Best Buy & Circuit City the price listed for this model was 249.99. And if you check around other online stores for this model I dont think you are going find a final total lower than 200. I know it is not the a top line model but in the end I found a dvd player that will suit my needs at a very reasonable final price of 129.99

It's not really a high end model and it's not top of the line but for most people this DVD player will be fine. Once you get the Toshiba 5109 and higher then you are getting into the high-end territory.

Note: This DVD Player will not read CDR/CDRW. Neither do the 3rd generation Sony's or any Toshiba models.

Personally, my CD Player *must* read CDR/CDRW. Call me "napster." :)

My Apex AD-600A is still running strong (mp3's and all).
