HOT HOT HOT maybe

I've got a moderately overclocked E6600 on an Asus P5B Deluxe running about 3.3GHz.
I've been running Orthos successfully for over 2.5 hrs. Temperatures were fine for the first hour, but now I've got some issues. Core Temp reports both cores at 53C, which I assume is fine at full load. However, Speed Fan and Asus Ai Suite report 86C. Should I believe this reading or believe Core Temp or are they just reporting from different spots. I felt around the heatsink and around the CPU and nothing seemed too be burning hot if even overly warm.

Any thoughts, please?

Throw some water on that fire!

Nah, are you using PC Probe 2?

I find it's pretty close to Core Temp/iTAT's results usually.

PC Probe reads the same as Ai Suite, 86C at the moment. Core Temp is reading 51C for both now. Shouldn't these things shutdown though when temp >85C? I thought I read that somewhere.

I don't get why the numbers would be so different. something's very strange. Oh well. At least there's no smoke coming out of case.
