Depends, are you simply plugging a SATA adapter into an unused 4-pin connection?

I don't know. I haven't even ordered an SATA drive yet, but the Samsung 500 GB 16 MB cache drive at Newegg has my attention. If I get it, I don't know how I will power it. Can I just connect the power connector to an adapter and that into a standard PSU power plug?

Edit: Actually, looking, it seems that my new MSI K8N Neo v2.0 H mobo came with just such an adapter. What I'm wondering is why the SATA drives don't use the standard power connection.

FYI, Club IT has very good deals right now on the OCZ GameXStream 700W and the OCZ GameXStream 850W. They're both respectable PSUs with sufficient wattage for just about any rig out there. But for the fact that they only have 2 six pin PCI-e connectors and I need all the MOLEX connectors I can get for peripherals, I would have jumped on either one.

Ive already had the power supply replaced on my Sonata II , it died.

I have a 9700 in my Chakra. It has about 1cm of clearance, and according to Newegg is 142mm tall. By comparison, I believe the Tuniq is 153mm tall and the Ultra 120 is 160.5mm tall.

Based on those figures, I'd guess the Tuniq would fit, though it'd be tight, but the Ultra 120 may be problematic. I hope it works out.

Where's the 1cm of clearance? Is that from the case side panel or from the PSU compartment?

Either way, you're making me nervous. The funny thing is that the the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme costs more than the Chakra, so if I had to cut my losses, the Chakra would probably be the thing being shipped back or sold on e-bay

That's between the top of the heatsink to the 25cm fan. Can't find my tape measure, so it's hard to make an exact measurement.

Then again, I think it's the heatpipes themselves giving the Ultra 120 its extra height, so you might be able to find a way to get it in there without interfering with the fan.

Yep, the tops of the heat pipes look to be about 25 mm, so I might get lucky. If not, there's always another case or the Scythe Ninja B.

I saw that too. I decided I will try to make do with my old Enlight ATX midtower for my second system. It would be easier building my new system if I got a new case, but I'll probably stick with the two I have. If I got a new case, I could put my new mobo in it and not have to change the mobo in my current number one system, which has a no-name case. As it is, I'll have to move my current #1 mobo to my other case and install my new mobo in the current #1 case = more work. The Enlight (case for #2 system) has no USB ports on the front, and I figure I'll eventually install at least two myself, when I find the right part(s).

I figure I can probably install 120 or 250 mm fans in my cases if I want to. My main case is running a little hot, I think. CPU temp around 45 no load after running a few hours in a moderate temperature room. A nice big quiet case fan would probably help that a lot. Also, maybe 120 mm fans on the back and possibly on the front on my #1 case. The #2 case has no venting on the front. Anyway, I've never had a CPU fail on me (nor video card), so maybe it's not that big a deal. HD's, neither. But I suppose the cooler you keep things, the safer you are against component failures and the associated headaches.

Just received my Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme from Crazy PC. The entire heatsink is 6 1/2 inches high from the top of the heatpipes to the base and 5 inches long at the widest point of the radiator.

My Chakra is coming tomorrow from ClubIt but I will be traveling until Sunday I'll report back then.

Bad news for me. The Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme does not fit in the Chakra. In fact, it's not even close. That big side fan on the case is about an inch too wide to accommodate the Thermalright. With shipping, the two items are almost exactly the same price but after this updated review from Anand, it's no contest. Back goes the Chakra and I hope ClubIT doesn't charge me a restocking fee.

By the way, I laid out both my 8800GTXs in the case and it's tight, but an 8800GTX SLI solution will fit in the Chakra.

You can also remove the fan, but then there's really no point in getting the case.

True. Oh and the cost to ship this thing back was $35.00, which sort of blows any economic incentive I have to RMA. Guess one of my kids will get it as their next case. Lucky them--it's going to look kick ass with the LED Yate Loons and the Nexus fan controller in the front.

Yeah, I wouldn't put anything larger than a 9700 in this case. Even a Ninja will require some modding of the fan to fit it in.

i'm getting this case and going to use a gemini 2 in it... seems like a good match... the buttons on the top were a requirement for the build, too (friend's dog keeps shutting off the pc with front buttons!!!)...

There's a posting here for a very good deal on an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 or 64. That cooler has got to fit in the Chakra since it's not much larger than a stock cooler. I'm willing to bet that if you combine the Chakra with the Freezer 7 or Freezer 64 and add some good 120mm fans to the front and rear of the case, you would have some very good and very quiet cooling.

I'm looking at my empty Chakra right now and I can't believe how nice it looks. I've removed the stupid badge of the yogi sitting cross-legged and there's a nice blue LED Yate Loon poking through the grill. Up close, you can tell the Chakra's a bargain case but I've still got some real regrets that I decided to go for the massive heatsink and the corresponding massive and expensive enclosure (Lian Li G-70) over the Chakra. The Chakra would have saved me close to two hundred dollars including shipping and I bet it would have done the job as well as the Lian Li.
