Yeah but i thought they were gonna replace them with the 1905FP cause i thought the 1901 is discontinued.

I have a 1901 FP now and I guess this will match it compared with the 1905FP

I just talk to my normal UPS guy and he said,, his truck is full of Dell boxes. , it's packed. Almost every box is a dell box. I'm betting his truck is going to be fill with Dell boxes for awhile.

I did open the box and it is indeed a 1901FP I am using it right now.

Hmm... I am doing a fresh install of XP Pro on the 1150... anyone else do this and notice that there are several partitions on the drive? There are 3 already partitioned on mine. C:, E: and another one that is just marked -: What is that all about? Is it safe to remove all the partitions?

It's their backup.

I normally wipe the partitions, and just create one. It's just wasted space for me, since I never use them.

im one of the many who ordered pretty earlying in the morning with my 700m of course still being in production. i think we should call dell and complain and get price knocked down or free upgrade to a super computer for a wait this long. i sold my old laptop to pay for this new one so im gonna be without one for almost a month!

I just got my 8600 this afternoon, ghosted it and installed the $120 Hitachi 60GB 7200RPM drive from Dell.

Now to make an attempt to get some credit from Dell for the 30GB it came with.

What was your projected ship date? It does seem like the 700m is taking forever. Mine is still boxing... But my ship date also isn't until 11/1. I was just expecting that it would ship sooner.

Missed my UPS guy when I was in class. Drove to the UPS center to pick it up myself, there's must have been around ~30 dell laptop/printers, and everybody in line was picking up a dell. Even the ups guys were laughing about it.

I ordered a 1901FP along with a cheap (Celeron) 1150 laptop. They both came today (about 2 weeks early) and they both kick ass. Yes, I was hoping for a 1905FP instead but the 1901FP that shipped lived up to my expectation: crisp, clear picture with pivoting option.
