Here's the deal

89.94 Maxtor 60GB 7200rpm UATA133 Hard drive
29.99 Copy Commander Software
-30.00 MIR for Copy Commander Printable link
-20.00 MIR for Maxtor hdd good to 12-28-02 Printable link
-20 off 100 online code (look for that yourselves)

=Free Software (after mir) and a 60GB hdd for $49.93 (after mir+online code)
Same HDD is going for $90 at newegg.com

The only prob is they are OOS for my area, but may be available elsewhere, offer good 12/8/02-12/14/02
Also note that mir for software says you have to have upc from both the hdd and software, so you may not be able to get both the mir's, be forwarned.
But you can order something that's 10.06 or more to go over 100 and still get the deal without the software. :) (the software sucks anyway in my opion) Like the Sony 50pack of cd-r's that ends up 1.94 after rebates anyway.

The ones at my B&M have the round blue and white sticker on them. Didn't I see somewhere that this meant someting particular?

I wish, OOS for me too, will be checking status of inventory thoughout the week at the local store.

...and I think the Ultra has an 8.5ms ave. seek time instead of the <9ms ave. seek time of the diamond max. I haven't seen anything that sepeartes the naming system between the 2MB cache drives and the 8MB cache drives.

Was oos for me also. I called the staples 800# and ordered it over the phone about an hour ago. Gave her the coupon code I was sent by email, total came to $79, minus the $30 rebate= $49. :D She said it will be here tomorrow.

Awesome deal lobadobadingdong , Thanks!!!

sweet, I tried the same thing, the lady said that they were oos :( and couldn't do anything about. She didn't even know when they would be getting more in.

Nice deal. These aren't the 8MB versions though, as the "Ultra" series starts at 80GB disks and larger.

Just bought one at the Staples at 51st and Lexington Ave. in New York City. Drive is a DiamondMax 9. Used a $15 email coupon. Out the door at $81.12. After rebate will be $61.12. Not bad.

This was a good deal to use the printable 15 off 75 and the 12 percent off friends and family on conjunction. I got out the door with just 68 bucks for the drive only. Factor in the 20 rebate and it is all good. The blue sticker means that is it a fluid dynamic bearing motor. So it is pretty quiet. Yes, this is only a 2MB drive.

If this is one of the single platter 40gb then i'll have to say this... this is the most silent drive i've ever had the pleasure of owning! If it weren't for the LED's blinking on the PC i wouldn't know if the drive is reading/writing or not.

grrrr. I tried calling over the phone again, with the 30 off 100 coupon, they said they had the drive in stock this time, but that I couldn't use the code. even though it didn't expire until 12/31/02, because it was being used by message boards, go figure. still shows oos on the web site though, wish they would fix that!:frown:
