This particular ad is for manual transmission...so you're still only saving roughly $4100 off MSRP. The Automatics are about $1000 more.

Somethin is not right. How come I can get any deal here in Atlanta, GA? I checked the ad nothin like the prices mentioned here. Am i looking at the wrong thing? I would love to get this:

This is in reference to your request NormreevesHonda.com.
Your price on the 2002 Honda Accord Coupe EX Auto is : $ 17,414 + tax and license. This price includes the the destination charge of $ 460.00.

edit: nevermind. I want sedan not coupe.

How's this?

Is this exactly the response you were sent by Norm Reeves Honda? I just called them up and their internet sales manager told me this price was for the LX and they won't go near that price for the EX. When exactly did you get this price? If I could get this price for an EX sedan (which should be the same price as the coupe), I would buy it right away!

Phantom- Yes, that ad was for manual. Family Honda in Rancho Santa Margarita ran auto LX's for 15,000 a month ago, though. Again, I paid 17,013 for an auto EX just a couple of weeks ago. I had been watching the prices for quite some time, and I don't see how it can get any lower.

I still don't see the incentives listed on edmunds or kbb. Has anyone verified that they are still in effect?

Sorry about that...The Cerritos Norm Reeves wouldn't even come close on that price with me, but I called the Huntington Beach one and they were much more willing to deal...

If duracell got his EX Auto for almost 17k even, then that's what I'm shooting for!

What about you guys?

RossMan are those prices including frieght... the best prices I've seen here in MD is 17977 including freight

West coast is getting some great prices. Best I've found is 1100 Under invoice, and once I got that, other deals only reluctantly agreed to match or go (ONLY) $50 less.

It looks like some CA dealers are approaching $2000 under. That is from the $20,xxx quoite for and EX V6 (Accord EX V6 Auto AC PW PL CD CASS LEATHER MOONROOF $20488 CG165)

Thats a #@$%$ng nice price for that model. Invoice for either sedan or coupe is $22,765. Go for it California buyers.

I bet thats what happen. All westcoaster got the deals. Anybody from SouthEast manage to score? Also, what do y'all think if I buy from west coast and have it ship to Atlanta, GA. The shipping cost probably kill the deal.

I remember I saw the ad price on Accord LX for $14999 before, but they did not say anything about Auto, so I assume it is a manual transmission.

I also test drive a Accord DX from Nelson Honda in El Monte, they have the ad price for $12499 and someone else have a ad price for a DX manual for !1999. Suprisingly DX has 84% made in Japan, but add AC to DX it will be another $1400-1700 from the dealer. I think a VP only cost about $13499.

I just went to the dealership tonight and found out that the 03 is going to be on the lots on 9/9... that should mean huge discounts on any remaining 02's... the only problem is if you want until then there may not be anything left...
what to do

I am probably going to get a SE Coupe... the best price I have so far is16,691 plus tax, tags, freight

Awansky,

Try King Honda in Auburn, AL. It's a little far but when I lived in Birmingham it took one call and they beat the local guys prices bigtime. They drive the car to your home too. I've bought 2 cars from them and never seen the dealership. Tell them your friends in B'ham recommended you call.

They have a 1-800 number but I can't find it 🙁

2003 Honda Accord look like this, I personally haven't got used to it looks, maybe I will like it later. But for the new 4cyl is 2.5L with 160hp, I was a little disappoint, I wish it has more HP than Altima.

I've been watching the spy shots for almost 2 months now, and I still don't like the looks of the '03. Side and rear views it looks like a saturn. Front looks GM. Goto www.vtec.net news section for gobs of info. The Euro Accord is much more masculine looking that this North American model.

RE: Altima, I believe I was told that the I4 Accord beat the I4 Altima at the Motor Trend track, so HP isn't all that makes you move fast. I heard it beat it on 0-60 and quarter mile according to MT.

I haven't seen this particular MT test, but I have driven the new I4 Altima, and it "feels" like it pulls less than my gf's current '94 Altima, but "feel" can be deceiving. It could be that it's heavier or even more likely that Nissan is overrating their horsepower numbers. For example, the new Infiniti Q45 is rated at 340 HP and the current Lexus LS430 rated closer to 300HP, and the Lexus weighs more than the Q45, but some magazine showed the LS430 faster than the Q45 at both 0-60 and 1/4 mile.

Of course HP isn't the only factor in determining acceleration - a few other factors are weight, gearing, aerodynamics, losses through drivetrain, and other frictional losses, but for the Q45 to have around 40 more rated horsepower than the LS430, weigh less, and be slower at acceleration tests, something smells very fishy.

I wasn't impressed with the "power" of the 2.5L in the Altima either. It seemed to be slow to accelerate from a moving speed of 10-20 MPH, maybe becuase the trans was shifting into higher gears to soon. Either way, I felt no reason to get that 2.5 and dump my 11 year old 1.6L 110 HP Sentra for what I though was a marginal improvement in acceration.

I'm stronly interested in the TL and the Accord V6. Camry V6 is on the marginal edge for me, Nissan beyond that.

Can anyone comment on the a Accord LX 2.3 vs a LX v6 in terms of longevity? The car would be use extensively for travelling between the bayarea and losangeles, would it be wiser to get the v6 since it would presumably last longer have less engine trouble? or is that all just a myth?

thanks!

I think that as long as you maintain it properly and don't abuse it, either engine will last for as long as you need. If you start shortcutting that's when you'll end up with huge repair bills, but either one should last you until you're absolutely tired of looking at the car.

Also, Accords are made in Japan and the US. I'm not sure if it makes a difference with Accords, but when I was looking at 2002 Camrys, my girlfriend noticed the Japanese made ones are of better quality (cleaner edges on the hidden plastic parts). If I were to buy a Camry or an Accord, I would definitely go for the one made in Japan, especially since there's no price difference. Just look for a VIN number that begins with a J. The US made ones start with a number.

I have a friend who own a 2000 Acura 3.2TL w/o Type S, and he told me new 2002 Maxima has less pickup speed and hp than his 3.2TL, I couldn't believe him when he told me that, but I should now since many people agree Altima 2.5L is not as strong as it said.
What I disappointed with 2003 Accord is its look, and its HP. I really look like a satun L series, and I saw Euro & Asia Accord look very very good and different, Japan version Euro R Accord look like this, and if I read this correctly, it is a 2156cc engine with 220hp@7200RPM, I don't expected they will sell this accord with this engine in US, but 160hp & 220hp is a big different, no wonder still many people import cars from asia like skyline and Japan version Lancer.
