let's hope the online store is as efficient as CircuitCity...usually CUSA's realtime inventory sucked...but something to keep in mind for future CUSA deals.
 
In store inventory is a joke. I saw an item was in stock at my local store- drive down there- "Uh, yeah, we probably have them, but I don't want to be bothered looking for it in the back".

Nice.

Yeah, or the all-to familiar one where I call and they say they have something in stock, tell them to hold one for me, drive there (45 minutes), to find "umm, no, there's nothing held for you, and we're out of stock. And the person you talked to went home already".
 
Oh man - the last time I went down to Frys to get one of those $10 or free AR USB flash sticks, the manager working that isle said that there weren't any for that price this week. So when I was about to leave - I double checked the ad on the door entrance which clearly showed that item. That manager was about to leave and I showed him the ad and he just said he knew about that item but it wasn't his isle so he couldn't offer help.

that prevents ppl from buying something, using it for a little while (while they wait for a new video card to come or something), and then returning it
 
and yeah, theres a COMPUSA about 12 mins from home but COMPUSA.com says theres none within 50 miles....looks like they've gotta iron out a lotta kinks before one can actually do any store picking up...anyone else notice the same ?

Thats one thing. The problem I have with it is like, sayyyyy, when I bought a clie t615 from them, it didn't work, I brought it back, they had none for exchange, and they refused to return it, so I had to wait over 2 weeks until they got more so I could exchange it.

Yeah, in instances like that.....the restocking fee sucks hard.
 
man, i've never really had a problem with compusa. rebates are ok and they have decent deals. but i love the fact that they are so close to home with a staples literally sharing the same parking lot and office depot across the street
 
Thank God for us in Hawaii!!!

In Hawaii CompUSA doesnt charge a restocking fee BUT their shipping prices are ridiculous..... always a deal killer if the B&M (2 total) do not have the item in stock.

In store pickup will make it much easier to jump on a deal quickly.

But I love doing that! I like calling it a "Best Buy Rental" -- Circuit City actually promotes you to return an item if you "don't like it."
 
Nothing like buying a piece of hardware, playing with it, then returning it and buying it cheaper from the for sale forum😉

Well, the reason I would do that is for evaluating something -- if I like it, I'll buy it for cheaper elsewhere online where it's cheaper. If I bought something for cheaper online, I'd have to pay shipping to return it too, and most likely, a restocking fee. Screw that!
