Must find at your local store. Its a closeout. I ran out to get mine this morning and its pretty darn good receiver. Good pickup and easy to operate.

ITEM: 16-3499

HDTV Receiver with HDMI Output Jack $89.98

It has Component, HDMI, and SVideo outputs on the back.

Doesnt come with an HDMI cable. Find one on e-bay or somewhere for cheap if you want to connect it to HDMI or DVI port on your hdtv.

I've seen a HDTV receiver (with HDMI i/p and cable included) at Walmart for under $90. No idea about the product itself. I forget the brand though.

Walmart had US Digital HD receivers I believe for under $100.00 at one point. I think they were a closeout also because thier cheapest receiver is now like 198.00.

I also dont believe the ones sold at Walmart had HDMI or DVI outputs only component video.

The one I am referring to is NOT the USDTV ones (they were stacked separately). I am positive Walmart has HDTV receivers with HDMI (cable included) for under 90$. I saw this last night.

Basically, yes. Check out antennaweb.org to see the location and relative direction of the digital broadcast towers in your area. All the digital/HD over the air channels are broadcast in the same VHF/UHF spectrum as the old analog channels (different specific channels/frequencies though of course).

I wonder how accurate the online inventory is. I recieved no hits for my zipcode.

I was looking at a hdtv tuner last spring on clearance at circuit city. I found a site that says if you live near an airport that will effect your ota signal. Does anyone have any experience with this? I hate to go spend $90 on something that won't work for me. I live within 2 miles of an airport and the airport is between me and the broadcast signal.

I am thinking about hitting up direct tv retentions dept and see if I can get a hdtv tuner free. My years contract I had to accept last year on the tivo deal is about up. I was reading a couple of threads about getting free stuff and was wondering if it will work me. Gonna have to make the call.

LOL!

This deal has been all over the internet for more than a week now.

You'll be very lucky to even find a display model today.

Again, people have been scooping these up for over a week now.

Anyway, Ive been using this receiver for the past 5 days and it works great. I owned the Samsung SIR T150 and T151 in the past and this one from radioshack is just as good and IMO has a nicer menu. It also has a nice signal strength meter.

I just read an article on Direct Tv getting the new equipment out around November so you might want to wait till then to call and try to get one of the newer HD receivers for free.

I belive Radio Shack has a 30 day return policy but you might want to check with the store first. You could always return it.

Im one of the lucky ones that with a small zenith indoor antenna I can get all the local networks, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, UPN, WB. Granted I dont get HBO or anything like that in HD but they only show like 1 good movie every other month anyway. Im 23 miles from the stations. I cant wait to put one in the Attic.

Is this something you can use with, say, Dish Network HD? I've got HD but their tuner is mediocre, doesn't even have a firewire output (Dammit!)

My area has them in stock. Does anybody know if this tuner would work with a computer monitor as the display device?

It'd make for a cheapo HDTV if it would work.

I'd love to get one - it's tempting, but it would be for the bedroom where I already have a MCE2005 box.

I want an HDTV cable source for there, but I really want it to be under the MCE interface... which is just not possible right now.

tempting, nice for a spare, I wonder how sensitive the tuner is. Anyone compare it to a generation 5 HD tuner yet?

I have the WalMart receiver and it gets an outstanding pic, but when using indoor antenna, have horrible interference that causes scrambled pics, no sound, etc till it resets. I might give this one a try because it does have the outlet.

Im 23 miles from HD sources and I can get all 5 major networks with signal strength of around 83.
This is using an indoor antenna that came with my ATI hdtv wonder. Too lazy to put the one in the attic.
Downstairs of a 2 story home at the lower part of the hill in the development where I live.

Its getting a better signal than my ATI HDTV tuner did.

Check with your local radio shack but they should have a decent return policy. It was 30 days when I was a wee young lad some 15 years ago.

Standard definition is even crisper than my Direct Tv SD feed.

i dont know. some of those $200 boxes can upconvert existing analog signals too. this is a pure HDTV only receiver.
