I just spoke to a customer rep... All I asked him was "The pdf file for the rebate says "Fry's receipt", nothing about Outpost. Is this rebate going to be good if I order it through outpost?

He said "are you talking about the 50 rebate on the 250GB hard drive?"
His response: yes the rebate is good, it's a special we're running today, and we had a ton of orders this morning and are sold out.
 
I just called up Outpost and here's the scoop.

They immediately acknowledged the price on the site was incoorect. It should have been posted at $189.99. They are honoring the $89.99 incorrect price until 11:00am EST when the site is being updated to correct the price. They are backordered by roughly 1000 units right now. Not sure if they will even be able to get in units to fulfill all of these orders but still accepted mine and will contact via email status. The rebate most likely will not work on backordered items as it expires on 1/06 (I believe). Still for $89.99 it's a solid deal for an external drive.

And yes confirmed - it is the enclosure including the drive.

I went and microwaved some lasagna while the submit order button was on my screen... as I debated...
I called outpost.. verified the rebate....

Oh well, even if I get it for $100, it's still a good deal.. But I regret selecting overnight shipping..
 
Ordered it w/ 2nd day shipping for $107.61. Got a confirmation email with order #. Let's see if we actually get it for $89..99 +tax + shipping.

thats just what im saying man. people claim to be conservative or whatever, but don't reallize that Bush's spending goes against the very idea

i ordered at 10:52, so hopefully they will honor it. id really like it for 40, but i get it for 90 i wont cry
 
What kind of rebate is this crap. Must be postmarked within 10 days of DOP?! Bah. No way can we recieve the HD and clip the barcode. They should be realistic. Hopefully, with 2 day shipping, they can get some serious units in and get em shipped in time.

Dispite, I have an 80GB internal, ordered 300GB internal, have an 80GB external (failing I believe), and now a 250GB external. Hard knocks.

it means you better mail it as soon as you receive it.
It kinda makes it a lot better.
You don't have to put it off and forget about it.
 
Do they do "first in first out" or could I possibly get lucky since I ordered it with overnight shipping? Could my order possibly be bumped up as a result?
