..:: Hot ::.. Godiva Choclates 50% 0ff

Maximus, You're amazing.

On another note, it's shocking that half-price chocolate is so expensive. Fortunately, I'm a chocolate wino, cheap chocolate is all I need.

Maxx,
This is not a Thread C*ap but an appeal to anybody willing to do the math on $50/lb sugar on sale at ½ price. It's still $25 a pound sugar.

😀😀😀 Besides that, as the reigning chocolate addict in the house, it would take $4,000 worth of Godivas to satiate my monthly habit.

And it will cost you only $2000 this time around. What are you going to do with all that freed up cash? 🙂

haha i just got the credit card bill from the day out with the most recent one... (including a trip to godiva) i had the same thought .

You guys really need to learn a few things about dating, the best presents and afternoons cost nothing! Any woman will appreciate a hand written note or a hand made card that shows you really care over a truckload of Godiva! And after the gorgeous hand written note, what woman wouldn't enjoy a homemade meal, a nice long walk talking about nothing (or perhaps your "feelings".... shudder!), I mean, where there is a will, there is a way, and money should have nothingto do with it!!!

nonono, not a truckload but a few chocolate covered strawberries. i had never had em before. they were worth it. and yes ive done the cheap dates too. its not all about the cash. wait a minn this is the HD forum... sorry to get all OT... but yes. i dont NEED to spoil her, but its fun. (and sometimes it convienient when its over cause you dont get the chance to stop spending more than you can afford) 😛

Answer: A woman that you haven't gone out with previously or haven't been dating long. 🙂

And speaking of Valentines day, this one or this one could be 're-bowed' to make a great Valentines day gift at an incredible price. 😀

I remember I recently bought my girlfriend flowers and the florist asked what I wanted to write on the card since it came with it. I said no thanks I don't want to write anything. She looked at me weird and said don't want anything in writing huh? lol.

a good point jjsole. the wooing stage is not one for a hand written note. sadly is should be, but women today wouldnt know what to do with chivalry if it walked up and slapped them on the behind.

If I recall correctly, the Godiva chocolate covered strawberries I bought a few months ago were $4 each... although, they were as big as tangerines.

I was a hero for remembering that she loves chocolate covered strawberries.

when i work at the hotel i made this 'hand dipped' strawberries by dozen a day, and u should know that they NEVER wash it before they dip it since once it's been wash it will get soft and nasty. the as you know strawberries has lots of dirt on them. tell it to your gf! i never understand what's so special about this

CHOCOLATE - IT'S GOOD FOR YOU (Fresh off the press.)
Rich in antioxidants and ?happy? neurotransmitters, Chocolate, it turns out, has many health benefits. It contains, for instance, polyphenols, which are antioxidants that can prevent cancer, inhibit heart disease, enhance our immune system and give us a feeling of well-being.

In particular, polyphenols help the body's cells resist damage from free radicals, which damage cell structure and are formed in our normal body processes. Polyphenols also help inhibit platelet aggregation and activation, meaning they help prevent platelets from clumping together, therefore reducing the risk of arteriosclerosis.

Other health benefits of chocolate include theobromine, a chemical in chocolate that has been shown to be effective in preventing coughs. It also contains healthful nutrients, such as the minerals calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, potassium, B vitamins, and copper, which are essential for normal biological functions, growth, metabolism and oxygen transport.

Chocolate also can affect mood in several ways. It contains phenethylamine (PEA), which stimulates the nervous system, triggering the release of endorphins, which are opiate-like compounds that dull pain and give a sense of well-being. There are also chemicals in chocolate that increase the activity of dopamine, a neurotransmitter directly associated with feelings of sexual arousal and pleasure.

Additionally, chocolate can boost brain levels of serotonin, the ?happy? neurotransmitter, especially in women, who tend to be more sensitive to chocolate than men. And yet another way chocolate can make us feel good is by inhibiting the natural breakdown of anandamide, a neurotransmitter normally found in small amounts in the brain that can produce a feeling of euphoria.

Although chocolate is high in calories, it is not high in cholesterol. In fact, a recent study done by the Mayo clinic showed that flavanoids, such as those found in chocolate's antioxidants, help cut back on "bad" cholesterol while raising the levels of "good" cholesterol.

Don't forget to check SAM's and Costco if you have them. They always put their holiday chocolates on clearance with big discounts after the holidays.

some of you might know about dating, some of you about the properties of chocolate .... I know about the taste chocolate is supposed to have ! yes I am from Belgium 🙂

The Godiva chocolates sold in US are crap, because its made in NY, vs imported from Belgium. They use different proportion of cocoa butter and probably other stuffs too. I suggest you people should try other Belgian Chocolate stores such as Neuhaus or Leonidas. I know there are some stores around here in the SF Bay area, and in NY. I'm sure it is sold in other areas but I haven't checked. Let me know how these taste ! 😀

You are right, belgian chocolates are some of the best. However for a culture raised on hershey's, godiva's are pretty dang good.

Now when you find a link for leonidas 50% off, you're welcome to post it, and I'm sure it will get a fine reception as well. 😉
