and says 8 pixels per clock (does that mean pixel pipelines?)

And it has more memory. Has anybody heard of Geeks rebates before?

nope- first geeks rebate ive ever seen (and been goin to their site for years)
someone needs to confirm those x600pro 256mb specs because they look inflated ..
like 256bit memory? i doubt it

ive used an x600xt before. very nice card for what it is. i played bf2 on 800x600 medium decent. and CS:S pretty playable frames on low and medium. so its a great card for all type of people. main rig or back up card i dont know the htpc uses tho.

This is pretty much just a PCI-E version of the 9600XT. I posted this instead of the X600 Pro due to the lack of DVI, since I think this would make a decent HTPC card.

I'm interested in this ATI 256 PCIe card but I notice it says it comes in a plain box and the rebate asks for "original UPC Code from the product package". Does the plain box have a upc code on it as the retail box would have?

It probably has some kind of bar code on it. Considering that this is Geeks' own rebate, I don't think they are going to pull anything funny. If they do, we will call them TigerDirect. 🙂

The specs are definitely wrong for the Pro x600 card. The x600 Pro was just a rebadge of the 9600 Pro card, just the interface was changed from AGP to PCI-Express.

Maybe they mixed it up with a x800 Pro? The specs says 8x pipes, although I thought the x800 Pro had 12x? Also the specs says 256Bit Memory Interface, which would be right for the x800. The memory speeds may be close to right for the x800? 900mhz Memory.

But anyways, I guess no one will know for sure unless they call or order and wait for it to come in.
