I grabbed one of the 17" LCD's for 300 bucks (price on box was 499), its called a "Gem" 171m. The PLU was 3976728, but its not on the Fry's outpost site, or the manufacturer's website. I did a quick search earlier and can't find much info about it or its response time. Even the PDF manual was pretty sparse. So far the color's look good and no dead pixel's, but it seems to have the blurr effect with games (i'm guessing its around 30-35 m/s response). Anyone know anything else about this monitor? I think might take it back, don't really need an extra monitor that can't play games ;-)

If Fry's doesn't want to do business on the East Coast F 'em, that's what I say, and I'm sure many others here would agree.

"Some asshole backed into my car with his camry @ sunnyvale Fry's."

I wasn't at the Sunnyvale Fry's that day, so it wasn't me. I also don't drive a Camry and live on the East Coast. I had achieved some success at backing into cars recently though.

I scored a $99.00 25" Sharp TV :) My girlfriend bought one too! One of the employees at the Fremont store told me they sold 1500 units today. EVERYONE had one in their carts!

parking lot was a madhouse had to park a mile away too just to stand in line.

needless to say i left.

hah, u in concord?

in bay area the lines weren't bad at all, maybe 2 min max. quite a few more people then normal, but with bay area store saturation and the fact that most people had no clue.... only had to brave the b.o.....

ut4k for 24 bux was kewl, but the rebate only applies to those with the previous version, ah well, 24 still a good price:)

goddamned, i got so much stuff i would have never bought normally, 1 million candle power lantern? cordless air compressor? lol:)

just how sh*tty is this colby phone anyways?

and yea, thats the good thing about frys, they tend to stock what they have on sale... unlike other #$@ stores like bestbuy/omax that carry like 10 or something.

I got to the San Jose/Brokaw Fry's at around 10am and managed to get everything I was looking for except the 208-CD Wallet.

HGST 200GB HD $200 - $130 MIR
Panasonic Vacuum Cleaner $57
Panasonic Phone ~$20ish
Sharp Fax/Copier $40 - $40MIR
Crock-Pot $11
Rice Cooker $10
Iron $4
Halogen Spotlight $8 - $8MIR
Logitech Optical Mouse $6

The parking lot was already packed by 10am and only got worse. The checkout line snaked itself from the front to the back of the store. It was moving pretty swiftly at least, because it looked like they had almost every register going.

well atleast the phone deals seem better today. instead of the rather shoddy colby phone you have the choice between vtech and a ge answer phone:) ah, gotta return the damn colby now, good thing i didn't bother opening anything yet, too many rebates:p
