HOT? Free V60i, ATT one year plan $39.99, unlimited off peak time.

First off it's 600 anytime minutes and nation wide long distance with unlimited nights and weekends.

As for the phone, my personal opinion on the phone is that it sucks! Ok it's not that bad but I have seen a ton of them with broken antennas which is really due to the way people handle them but still be aware.

Also the stand by time is pretty weak at around 192 hours.

From my experience people either really love them and never have any problems or they can't stand them and want a new phone.

On Novermber 2nd and a few days earlier, The Phone was $169.99 with a $170 rebate.
TOTAL: FREE

On November 3rd, I ordered this phone, the V60i for $169.99 with $220 in rebates
TOTAL: -50.01

On November 4th, I checked amazon.com again and they raised the price to $219.99 with $220 in rebates
TOTAL: FREE

Sucks how amazon raises the price from 169 to 219 to keep it at FREE after rebate. I got lucky in ordering the phone the day they didn't change the price.

What sucks even more so is that my shipping date is 8 days after I made the order.

I bought this phone 3 weeks ago for $100. It was priced $150 back then at local retailer. Anyway, I love the phone. It's my first one so I take good care of it. My plan is 500 mins + unlimited night/weekends for $34.99, which is pretty decent.

Is there a way to purchase the phone if I already have service with AT&T? I just wanna upgrade, and you can't go wrong with free.

Thanks, Brahzz.....

You can upgrade your phone every 6 months or twice a year.

I think most of the v60s you've seen with broken antennas were the CDMA versions (v60c or v60i-cdma). The TDMA and IIRC the GSM versions have stub antennas and if you break one of those, well I'm impressed. The CDMA flavor has a retractable antenna that is easy to snap off. Supposedly the v60i-cdma has an improved design (shrug). But you are right, people either love or hate these phones.

I had one of these for 8 months with AT&T and liked it a lot. Never had any problems with it and I think it has an attractive design. Not as user friendly as Nokia, or even Sony Ericsson, but a nice phone nonetheless. I've recently upgraded to a SE t68i that I love way more, but the V60 is nice. You will not break the antenna on this phone either! Too bad you guys didn't get in on this a week ago when it was MAKE $200 (posted elsewhere on AT) at BB.

No it was the TDMA version of the v60. Most antenna breakage was caused be users, most of them kept it in there pocket. Not a good idea because if you sit down you can easily snap it off if it happens to parrallel to your leg.

I hadn't heard this before. Why would ATT (or any other carrier) care how often you upgrade the phone? My understanding is that no matter how long you go between upgrades, you still don't qualify for any of these enticing "FREE but only for new subscriber" deals. Unless you're changing carriers, I would think you could upgrade to a new phone whenver you feel like it. Just don't expect to get any rebates. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

I think saying that it can "easily snap" off, is QUITE an over statement! Like Runciter said, these antennas are nearly impossible to break off, and very few people will have a problem. Plus you can always buy a new antenna for like $10.

With GSM you don't have to worry about how often you upgrade your phone, as with GSM all you have to do is put your SIM card into the new phone.

No they actually break off where the antennas screw in, still fixable but a little more costly.

Anyways there is no point in arguing this, so let's just drop it.

So you gotta pay tax for the $220 before the rebate? So the phone will be 20 bux in CA?
That sucks. I do get 15% discount for ATT plans at work though.

Ok, Buy.com has this phone, Motorola V60i with variety of AT&T plans for Free after $50 rebate with new 12 month service activations. I was looking for this phone - actually two of them to replace older Ericsson phones. I added the $10 off $100 coupon for a total of $89 shipped before the rebates. Much lower 'rebate' risk ($50 per phone) compared to the Amazon deal. After I get the rebates, I'll have been paid $9.26 to move to the new plan with these phones.

Oh, I also have been lazy about getting better plans with my existing phones, so I pick up unlimited nights/weekends (9pm-6am version 🙁), 400 more anytime minutes (one $30 plan, one $40 plan), text messaging and included long distance.

the v60i is a *slightly* updated version from the regular v60 that many of you have had for 6+ months. although there aren't too many major differences for the TDMA version, it does have games 🙂 but i agree, it's kind of love it or hate it with this phone, i have the v60i and am very satisfied with it.
