Not all models have free shipping btw!
i have to pay respect to these people i saved over 1000$ + buying my tv from them i wanted a hdtv got one for 2200$ from them the only store in my town that sold it wanted 1000$ more for it. i ordered it and recieved it about 1 week later. Really pleased its been months now, never had a problem. I recommend that you only buy brands that you have local repair shops certified to repair that way if it breaks you dont have a mess to get it fixed!

Nice deals... they still have most of them in stock.

Prices do beat BestBuy by a few hundred.... but, BestBuy just started the no payment on all tv's $299 and ^ until Jan/2004.

If you want a new model that doesn't have the 10% discount & free shipping............ I called them and said i'd order a new one if i got that deal. They said OK and included a 2 meter Component video cable that was offered on other models also. Turned out to be a good deal on a coming soon 2003 Toshiba Cinema Series. Which isn't in stores yet. PS its being shipped on Monday, they called me friday.😀

Is this advertised in their new circular?

Forgive me for mentioning another forum here, but Onecall does group buys every month through Home Theater Spot. There are usually some really good deals there. Even better, they are an authorized dealership, so you won't lose your manufacturer's warranty.

Ug...Home Theatre Spot sucks. I've been a lurking member there for over 9 months and a lurker for longer than that. Then, when I'm finally ready to buy a TV, they stop allowing people to post anything related to pricing or even mention retailers except for the omnipresent onecall.

So, I made my first post in reply to someone else and said the post nazis didn't allow anything on price and I got banned! This was Thursday of last week. So, #@*& them. I cannot even begin to understand how you do an enthusiast community justice by having rules that preclude mentioning pricing. In fact, you are probably causing many of them to spend more than they should just because no one can discuss retailers and pricing and so they don't end up with the best possible deals on expenditures that can easily run over $5000.

Stay away from them!

I second that, I had a similiar experience. Yet in mine I very politley complained that by not allowing us to discuss prices, the service was useless. I was also banned.

Umm, actually, it's no interest financing until Jan 2004, not "no payments". Quite a big difference. 🙂

If anyone is considering an HDTV, I'd suggest the Toshiba line. I've had my 50H81 for over a year now, never had a single problem, and the picture it puts out is amazing in SD, HD, or DVD.

As for the Home Theater Spot, well, that site is run and moderated by the Taliban (not literally, but their thirst for power and censorship is identical). The site used to be alright for info and finding out about good deals, but the owners fell to the darkside of greed for $, and now only allow posters to post about their sponsors (Onecall, Bettercables), who by the way are overpriced anyway.

I've been banned from the Spot a few times, due to politely disagreeing with the totalitarian owners / moderators about them screwing the new guys into spending more $ than they have to (and I don't work for anything related to HT, just like to help out newbies). It's comical to see how they run their site now.

BTW, only some manufacturers will not honor the product warranty if the purchase is not from an authorized dealer. Toshiba WILL honor it's warranty, regardless of who the HDTV was purchased through. All Tosh wants is a sales receipt for warranty work. Check with other manufacturers for their specifics.
