was the card inserted while doing it? trying to get the onboard video disabled in this ms-7184 is why i am asking
The instructions with the card instruct you to disable onboard video. My motherboard doesn't have onboard video so this wasn't my problem.

Remove the new card so you can get a pic. Then, boot to the CMOS, change the setting to disable the onboard video, power down, and insert the card again. That should work.

On a more disappointing note, I'm still having other problems with both copies of this card in my machine. I'm going to return them, today. 🙁

I have a 5200 with 128 ram and 128 bus. Bought it 4-6montha ago for < $50. I bought it for a htpc. Its been good. I have not played any games on it. It ran hauppauge sw fine and gbpvr well. It had problems with beyondtv at first. I have an AMD 2000 and 512meg. I had to use s/w instead of h/w to do some features. Suprised me because I bought the card to offload my proc. I went with it because I just wanted the most basic dx9 card that could offload some video overlay calc etc. Now it seems the h/w can't run fast enough to help even htpc. Add in that it doesn't have the built in h/w to accelerate mpeg playback I question it even for FAR. You are paying $50 for a 64bit card that should be cheaper than my $30sumthing 128 bit card. I kinda wish I got the 57 or 5900 for future use. But to be fair it is working perfectly with my settings. Just turn off most h/w acceleration and I can't vouch for what 64 bit may do to you.
