So, what is this, the year of the goat, year 4700 or something ??

Will the groundhog see his shadow??? :p

Well according to the Christian calender the new year started a month ago, but that's based on Jesus and friends.

And don't say dumb things, you make us white guys look bad.

I'd have to agree with what someone else said above.

A lot of it is from parenting. My halfbreed friend (lol) who's half white, half Chinese, attests his well being and education to his mother (the Chinese one). As he put it, his dad didn't really give too much of a care or push at all. His mom? Well, whip out the flail and the whip, we're going downtown to school!

To this day, I still remember my mom trying to break down my locked door demanding I study for SAT's ( i was only a freshmen in high school at the time). And my mom had it worse. My grandma (who I always thought was the sweetest thing) would whip out the bamboo for beating time. You got a 99 on the test? Her question to you would be " what happened to the last point?" Thankfully she's not like that anymore

The downside to all this is most of my Asian friends say pretty much the same thing: they can't stand being around their parents. Whereas many of my white friends have glorious relationships with their parents with the huggy kissy touchy stuff.

After multiple ignorant comments I do. By the way the racist ninja boy comment fell flat due to the fact that I'm Caucasian. White boy or beloved patriot would be more appropiate.

funny thing is that studying for the SAT doesn't do sh!t.... So you know how to memorize vocab words and math patterns. woopy. It has no real world value.
I studied for the SAT and did pretty well, but i barely met the graduation requirements for college.

(I am chinese btw, and i criticize a lot of the chinese/asian ways)

and i never get red envelopes either!

har har har. wait. None of that was funny!? Oh, whoops, I thought you were trying to be funny cuz of all those smileys in your post. Well...let's see...something about Chinese people not knowing the new year started a month ago...no, I think the Chinese people of Anandtech are pretty darn aware of when 2003 began...you might want to rethink that one, sport. What else...oh yes..."damn foreigners"...true true....I hate people who are not Native-American too, those damn foreigners....you're Native American, right? And let's see...oh, you think the whole delineation of winter and spring based on the behavior of the official groundhog is a silly tradition...yeah, me too..oh wait, you mean this is a strictly American tradition? oh crap!!!

Hey, tell ya what, sport. Why don't you make some bigoted remarks about other Asians too...especially Asian Indians -- let's see how long you last on the forum.
