When do the rebates get applied? The ordering system is telling me that my credit card will be charged for the total price and then I can apply the rebate.

There is no way I am letting these guys charge my credit card on the hopes that will apply the rebate at some time later.

You send in the rebate after, I believe they have a form online. From what I've heard, Cyberrebat is legit as long as you fill out the rebate form correctly - shouldn't be too hard. You just won't see your money for a few months. This discussion comes up every time a cyberrebate thread is posted, it gets really old...

Garet Jax - no problem

If anyone is interested in the ways of Cyberrebate, just do a search for it in this and the OT forum, you'll get plenty of info.

The ONLY good thing about the astronomical price is that the 5% ebates kickback gets a bit bigger.

I've bought a few things from them and had no problems with the rebates. Would be nice to get some inside info on their financial condition before "lending" them this kind of money.

I bought a couple of things from CyberRebate, such as a 2lb Breadmaker and a International Power kit. I finally got the rebate from the Breadmaker ($200-$185 MIR), but haven't got the rebate for power kit.

These days, CyberRebate has junk that is so overpriced that I can't
bring myself to even take the chance. 10/100 Ethernet card for
$180?? So what if it's free. What happens if you don't get the
form in, or it gets lost, or something like that. That's one
white elephant that I want no part of.

The breadmaker is cool though...

What i know about cyberrebate is that it takes eons to receive the rebate, not to mention that you pay an astronomical price. However, if you have the money to spend, I guess you could go for it.

Again, I'm going to say this. I just find it hard not to believe that most of these cyberrebates threads are started by their employees.

Come on, it just makes no sense. Why would someone pick the mouse out of their hundreds of products and say just that's a hot deal and not think that all the other great stuff they have there isn't worth mentioning???

I'm so sick of these threads. It's spam as far as I'm concerned.

I'd see if some newbie came here and say...hey I found a great site where everything is free. That seems like just someone who didn't seach, but to pick out one item out of all the free ones and say that's a hot deal and then have that type of post show up a few times a week. WAY to suspicious to me.

Sorry to the original poster if I'm wrong here on you, but I'm pretty sure I'm not wrong on the whole.

Anyone agree?

I, for one, don't agree. CR seems to have quite a bit of cash for marketing. They just recently bought several full page color ads in numerous national magazines, Newsweek etc.

They also heavily push their affiliate program.

I don't think they would bother to have somebody planting posts in this, or other, groups.

Yeah, I doubt a big company like CR will bother to spam message boards. Almost always its some crappy ass small site spamming(like littleassshack.com:)). If it were an employee, he'd know the links without seession id's.

Lex Luthor,
In answer to your question, I don't work for them. This post is just good old fashioned HOT. I already bought an MS optical mouse from an earlier MCI/Amazon $150 promo. Had I seen this deal earlier, I would have jumped on it. As far as I know, they take about 6-8 weeks to get the rebate--about the same time frame as any rebate check (must have something to do w/ accounting why companies take this long to send a check). Bottom line: I like this product b/c it's FREE lest we forget. ;)

They had the same mouse a while back for $299. I guess they couldn't sell it for that much so they've dropped the price! God these deals just get worse and worse with cyberrebate. I could see spending $50 or $60 for a $30 mouse with a full refund, but $165?? You'd have to be insane to spend that amount.
