" I'm hoping that the Deerfield project they mention is the one on Windward Pkwy."

I am pretty sure that is the location for the Fry's real estate deal which was rumored to happen about a year or so ago . At least they are moving foward now .

Get ready for a line. Frys uses the single line method with about a hundred cashiers. You are lead down a long line, surrounded by even more goods to buy, until you reach a traffic cop that directs you to the next available cashier.

I live in the SF east bay, about an hour from the nearest Fry's (AutoMall/Durham), but I see the ads everyday in the newspaper. I have made a couple of drives there to get "must have" items, but I never come home with more than I went for. The non sale prices are not good, and the selection is overwhelming. I get the "what the hell did I come here for" syndrome.

I don't want to burst anyones bubble, but there has been talk of a Fry's in my neighborhood for years, permits and everything, but I have yet to see it. My wallet does not look forward to the opening.

FYI, Fry's used to be a grocery store operation.
