My girlfriend (the junior deal addict) found this site and it has a free membership for 30 days. Once you join you can buy any amount of $25 gift cards from Circuit city, Target, Kmart and many more for only $20 each (saving 20%). You can also get 1/2 price movie tickets and a bunch of other junk... seems like a very hot deal, I am using it to buy a Sony WEGA 27" from circuit city for $400 (16X $25 gift cards plus 16X $5 free gift cards - I can't wait to see what they say when I hand them 32 gift cards). here is the site..

http://www.dealpass.com

oh almost forgot on top of this you get a $25 Kmart gift card with your no obligation membership.

so what's the deal???

if i click on different icons in that little "save money at the retailers you know and trust" box, i get different offers. one says $750 savings at home depot, and another says $900 at retailers like home depot (just one difference of many). from one of the links, i found that you buy $25 gift certificates to a particular store (up to 30 per year per family member per store, apparently -- do you have to pay the yearly $140 per family member?) and get $5 back for each of them at the end of the month.

are they really different offers (different clubs)?

also, what does the below passage from the home page mean, and can you use it to get the coupons without the yearly fee?

"If you belong to any of the programs you see here, just log in for immediate, online access to your member benefits. It's really that easy!"

thanks for clarification,

I can almost bet they make it very hard to cancel busy or on hold etc, I have been charged to many times after I have canceled things more of a hassle then worth.

since you only get to buy 30 for any store that means you can only save 30*5 or $150 per store...since membership is $140 and you'd have to buy the max for several stores to make it worth your while(unless that $5 at the end of the month actually works, but I haven't seen it anywhere on the site). But I guess if you're really insane it could work =P

Seems to be a good deal if you can cancel easily before the 1 month trial expires, otherwise you have to max out (like TekDemon said) to stay above. A bit too rich for my blood...

It seems to me with Price Matching, its a safe bet to get 30 x $20 certificates for Target-Circuit City... but you do need a CC and be a bit crazy. ;)

I'm only one attribute short... and its not being crazy.

Would the following possibly imply that I would have be a member at the end of the month to get the 20% off:

For every $25 Giftcard you purchase you will receive $5 back at the end of each month.

Has anyone joined? I notice there are several separate clubs, so joining won't give you all the deals advertised on the DealPlus welcome page. Even so, saving $20 off the top at Lowes or HomeDepot on a $2000 project could save you $400 (if there is no limit on gift cards purchased) :D

ccity, you said:

Are the 16X $5 free gift cards for the 20% off the 16X $25 gift cards you mentioned? If so, do you have to wait until the end of the month to get the $5 free gift cards?

I checked this out through the "Galleria" outfit a few months ago. The catch seemed to be that you really can't get anything in your hands in the first 30 days (before you are stuck paying). See Jerzah's post above.

There didn't seem to be a way to collect any benefits before the 30 day free trial expired.

ok you guys really freaked me out since I was in a huge rush to get my gift cards and I really didnt look at the site closely. I called their member services 1-877-443-1941 and spoke to someone named Sharon. According to their site they will credit your card at the end of the month, since I was skeptical if that meant the end of the month, or 30 days later I grilled her on it. According to her she said for sure you would see a credit to your card by the first or second business day of the month, and that it would be before the end of my trial - which ends November 10th. I also checked and all purcahases are fully refundable, so I guess in theory you could wait until you get your credit or just send them back..

Either way this may be a little bit shady, but I am already in so I guess worst case is that I pay full price for a TV (although the thought of paying full price for anything makes me cringe). If anyone else finds anything else out please post it... Or if you know how I can get a good deal on a 27" flat screen TV that would help too :)

get the akai 27" flat screen at sams. I paid $350 about 8 months ago and I have no doubt in my mind that the TV picture is superior to a Wega. Oh yeah -- WIDE SCREEN SQUEEZE. If thats not enough for you just remember that the Akai is really just a rebadged samsung. Save yourself some cash and get the akai.

When you called customer service, did you grill them about any other aspects of the program, like the 30-gc limit for each store? By the way, where does it say you are limited to 30 cards? I can't find anywhere saying that. Someone above said it was 30 per family member per store. According to their FAQ:

"Can my whole family use this?

Yes! The members of your immediate family including your spouse, and dependent children who are living in your household at your current address may take advantage of your member benefits."

If the 30 card per family member is in fact true, this implies you can get more than 30 if you use more than 1 family member.

I'm actually very interested in this as I'm planning on buying a $2k TV set from CC in the near future, and saving 20% would be a BIG help!
