eVGA's paltry one year warranty, esp. at today's outrageous prices for graphics cards in general, makes any deal involving their products quite chilly IMHO. Thankfully many CC companies still offer extended warranty protection ...

MY ZZF 6800LE came clocked at 325/700. Their site and the "Manufacturer Product Specifications" shows 325/1100... It won't do 1100, 1000, or 900... :(

Sounds like you got a regular vanilla 6800

Back at zipzoomfly again for $349.

Not only is it up $24 but people are reporting regular 6800's being shipped, specs say:

256-bit GeForce 6800 (325MHz clock)
256MB 256-bit 1.6ns (8x32) DDR3 Memory
(550MHz clock - 1100MHz effective)

Not sure I want to risk paying $349 for a regular 6800... :disgust:

I finally flashed mine to a Ultra card. it came clocked @ 325/1100, as it came it would over clock to 390x1200 then start artifacting.

I flashed to a new bios. 1.5v to the gpu, and it shows as an ultra now. it's stable @ 485core and 1280 memory, No joke. 3dmark 2003 score of over 13k easy and no artifacts. Best 325 i ever spent on a vid card!!!!

2003 is all cpu, im not using the card in my sig rig, it wont fit my NB Thermal right cooler.

I've been testing it in my Duallie Xeon rig 2 2.8 Xeons "MO" steppings @ 3.65ghz each. It turned my server/Video encoder into a hell of a gaming rig also. I bought 4 of these cards. 2 from Newegg, and 2 from Zipzoomfly, all came clocked @ 325/1100, but a few guys on my home hangout forums have been getting 325x700mem cards which really blows, And zipzoom wont RMA, even though they advertise them as 1100 mhz cards. BS!!!

It appears that most, if not all of the 6800LEs coming from ZZF are clocked at 325/700. Thugsrook and Aonic are providing altered BIOS to correct this issue but some have reported that eVGA sent them an updated BIOS to correct the RAM speed. Check this THREAD

I've seen that thread but haven't had the time to read through 900+ posts...

Edit: Here it is:
Thugsrook modded bios

Edit # 2: I must be really unlucky. Took awhile to get it to flash (wfflash didn't work, had to use nvflash). After flashing I still can't get it to 325 / 1100, 1000, or even 900 using coolbits or powerstrip. :(

Well, I got my card in from Newegg and it has all 16 pipes open and came clocked at 325/1100. I've got it up to 380/1100 with the standard heatsink.

Do you think I'll have better luck with the Arctic Cooling Silencer 5? Is it worth buying for a try?

The post right above you has a link to flash it to a full ultra, With the HSF you have you shold get 425/1150 no problem. Try that first.

You guys are in for the big market scheme to ultimately risk your warranty for something that they should've given you for a cheaper price. Instead of selling the 6800 ultra for much more, they sell the underclocked 6800 le way cheaper and in doing so, they already earned themselves your no-return warranty. Plus, those guys who make bios to make the card run full speed and if the card dies, your warranty goes to waste, therefore, they would have less return rate and would save themselves a whole lot of money. But then again, most people don't care about vid. warranties. Especially ones from PNY where they require your store receipt....wtf is that. I did the same with my 9500 softmod to 9700, but when i think about it, it's worth the money since the card runs great and very stable. But what i'm saying is they are issuing a huge price lift just for marketing and customer support which most people would never even care to deal with and still pay for.

Great card. Expensive. But SLI is gonna be sweeter. Some will regret.

You can always flash it back  and SLI is a marketing gimmick. You must be too young to remember 3Dfx...
