These cards aren't as fast as GTs. I doubt they'll even reach 375 core while the GTs can get 400 easily. But they do have dual dvi and a better HSF.

If you check out the thread in Video, people are getting 400 and above with an ultra bios reflash.

Since newegg won't take it back, and newegg is OOS, I'd be willing to sell the one I have for $350 shipped (I paid tax/shipping from newegg).
PM me.

Just wondering which SFF you have. I have one shuttle sb51g and don't want to make the same mistake.

Mine is running at 425/1100.
(edit: After flashing with the 8600 ultra bios)

8600 U!! GIMME GIMME!!! 😛

JK. Exactly which BIOS versions is everyone using to hit > Ultra speeds?? What program are you using to overclock the card (included software??)

Shouldn't have too much trouble fitting this thing in my beastly case or amply sized mobo. 🙂

I flashed to the eVGA.6800U.256MB.Rev.04.

I was using coolbits to overclock, but with this flash I just left it at its default speeds.

I flashed the same bios with wfflash and left it at is new default speeds. 425/1100 is schweet!

Sorry, I feel a bit stupid ^^

I can't find the BIOS on their site. Where exactly did you DL them from?? (link would be greatly appreciated ^^)

So this is definitely worth getting eh?
What's the point of going for GT if this is way better than GT?

Any cons? Some was saying this is failed Ultra stuff....

So far any problems?

So what is the pipelines/core and memory specs of the 6800, 6800GT and 6800 Ultra ...finally what are the specs of this LE model out of the box?

thanks

Yep, zipzoomfly has them in stock for $10 dollars more (neweggs shipping).

Here it is: Text

eVGA 6800 Ultra 425MHz / 1100Mhz 256MB DDR3 1.6ns

eVGA 6800GT 350MHz / 1000Mhz 256MB DDR3 2ns

eVGA 6800LE 325MHZ / 1100MHz 256MB DDR3 1.6ns

eVGA 6800 325MHz / 700MHZ 128MB DDR 2.8ns

THe LE has better memory and comes at a higher memory clock than the GT. But the Gt has more core overclock headroom (I know from personal experience with the GT), but since YMMV with the LE, can't say what the better deal is. But I assume if the LE comes with all 16 pipes unlocked and working as they should and you can get the core to 400 and the ram to 1200 stable, as some have been claiming, then the LE has to be the better deal.

EDIT: Since the clock of the GT is 350MHz then the LE is the better deal.

Unless of course you consider that the ultra has been selling for around $600, then that would mean a $220 price hike over the GT for 25MHz extra core, 100MHz and .4ns extra for the ram (also dual dvi, better cooling and some other things). The price hike is probably do to the rarity of the 1.6ns ram, which would make the LE a rare gem. But a few rare individuals have gotten 12 pipes.....

the gt's stock clock is 350 mhz

IT TOTALLY BLOWS TO BE LIVING IN CANADA. GODDAM IT.... being a college student doesn't help (financially) either.. 🙁

Can this card run Doom3/Halflife2/FarCry etc on 1600x1200 (native res of my 2001 fp's) with good framerates on a decent quality setting? If so, is this with the stock setting or with the bios flashed? Even if I can't get this card up to the 400/1200 spec like someone posted this card was possibly capable of, will it still be worth upgrading to from my FX5600? The dual DVI is very, very tempting for my dual 2001 fp's. Suggestions very welcome.

Im one of those idiot that bought a 5600 fx card. After upgrading to this baby im getting around 4,090 on 3dmark2005 considering i didnt overclock at all and i have a 3 year old computer. Its pretty good score. Im playing ultra for doom 3 and its beatiful with my surround sound system.

Let me get this straight: you're running $1400 worth of monitors on a $75 video card?

As for whether there will be a noticeable difference, well, duh.... But if you have been so oblivious of the media coverage of video cards as to not know the answer, I'm not sure what we can tell you. It is pretty obvious that video card prowess is unimportant to you, or you wouldn't be asking at this late date.
