4X DVD-R/RW OEM DVD-RAM for $173 shipped.
Maybe not a barn burner but plenty good with no MIRs or anything of the like to fool with.

I simply did a search on Pricewatch.com for
-----------------------
DVD RAM 4.7GB 4x
-----------------------
Too lazy to do a Link to Allmediaoutlet.com

Some one else can research the reseller ratings and verify the Six-Month Rating: 6.18 @ ResellerRatings for allmediaoutlet.com

Let the good times roll :D:D:D

4x is as fast as DVD burning gets...it's a good drive (bought one a few weeks ago for $200 after rebate). $173 out the door is a pretty good price. Now the media prices for the faster discs need to come down. (4x DVD-Rs are still too expensive, but 1x DVD-Rs are under $1 each.)

BTW, it doesn't burn DVD-RAM...it burns DVD-R and DVD-RW. (It also burns CD-R and CD-RW, but there are faster/cheaper drives for those formats.) Looks like it might come with better software than what came with mine. Mine came with Nero Express (which sucks) and NeroVision Express (which also sucks). If theirs really comes with full-version Nero and not Nero Express, that would be cool. I don't know what DVD MovieFactory 2 is like, but anything has to be better than NeroVision Express. (I was going to pick up TMPGEnc DVD Author, but am leaning more toward DVDlab.)

Anyone else confused why all the differing prices on the drive at their website? I see that one is an external drive.. but whats the diff on the others?
They all say with software..... one looks like it comes with some media.

For those that might not be all that secure about ordering from Allmediaoutlet.com, Newegg has the bare drive DVR-105 for $175. I think they're starting to come down in price since everyone is selling them for cheap. I noticed on Outpost.com that they have the Retail DVR-A05 for $199 regular price now. Let's all keep our fingers crossed and hope that this is the price cut that we've been waiting for.
