If you use dialup, check out www.bigzoo.net. They are running a promo of $1.99/mo for 150 hours. I have been using them for 3 months now. Always connect at around 51Kb on 56Kb modem.

Some people have lives that don't revolve around the computer/cell phone/pda. I am not a slave to gadgetry and spending $40 to $60 a month for cable/dsl is stupid.

This is a hot deal for us still living in the stone age of dial up.

If you are on cable/dsl and can't imagine how anyone still uses dial-up, why did you look at this thread?

Give us a break and go crap somewhere else.

Know that they're limited to 12 states. 150 hrs/month=5 hours a day, so that's enough for most people. I wonder what their angle is to sell it so cheap. The lowest cost of a wholesale account is $5-$6 if you buy in large quantities from a wholesale provider. Makes you wonder if they're recording marketing data or something to generate income.

i just switched from peoplepc to express56 a while back....
so far the service has been good to me, no contract with unlimited dialup using window's DUN (no need for their dialer program, etc) for 6.95 monthly (although there's a one time $10 activation fee). this means it can also be used for dreamcast online (they even have support page for setting up your dreamcast and others

and yes, some of us still live in stone age and/or too poor to afford broadband... but i can still get my pr0n just fine ... eh, i mean .... ummm..... 😱

No, they're unavailable in 12 states. They greyed out states are ones that AREN'T available, not the ones that are.

Doesn't matter to me, my area isn't serviced 🙁

Hi,

This is slightly off-topic, but while we're at it, does anyone know of a reasonable dialup ISP deal where they have either national or regional access in at least VA and WV?

Both of the ISPs mentioned in this thread don't have anything in WV 🙁.

Thanks,
Jim

I setup Access4Less for a relative about 2 months ago and it seems solid.

Access4Less Promotion
$5.95/mo, $0 setup

I think they kick you off after 5 hours and you have to relogon, but other than that it's unlimited hours.

if your looking for a cheap isp in your area this site is nice it lists all the cheap isps in your area and you can read user comments to see if their any good linker

Thanks gregtor for the link. I've decided to go with Poetworld instead of Access4less because of the reviews at Freedomlist

Thank you for the link, Gregtor. I just signed up with Highstream, and am already up and running. So far, so good. Not only it's a good deal for under $9 a month, but they also have newsgroops, which is a rartity for this price range.

bigzoo.net is $46 total for 9 months (first 3 months $2/month, next 6 @ $6/month). that avg to be ~5/month.

is Highstream ($9/month) the cheapest that includes newsgroups?
