HOT??? - Diablo 2 and LOD Expansion for $4.50 each @ Staples B&M

I was in my local Staples this morning trying to get in on the Cendyne 32x CDRW deal, and of course, it didn't go through

I saw where they had Diablo 2 and the LOD expansion on clearance for $4.50 each in the LARGE boxes. The funny thing was, the had the expansion pack in the new smaller boxes for $30 and Diablo 1 for $10.

I am not a big fan of the D2 series, but I got both for a total of $9.

Now if I can just track down one of the $10 off $40 instore coupons so I can get Age of Mythology at Staples B&M for $30.....

A local Staples had both a month or so ago for $10 each on clearance. I was thinking of picking them up for backup copies, but was worried the boxes might have been previously opened & the CD key taken. For Diablo and LOD, you can't get on battlenet (multiplayer) if someone else is using your CDkey, which would make them worthless to me.

So if you find it, check the boxes very carefully.

FYI, all of the clearance boxes looked fine to me and the CD-keys were inside and valid.

Also, I saw on an early HT thread that some Staples have the original Civ3 for $10. I am sure its the one in the big box because I saw Civ3 GOTY in the small box for $30.

I have been wanting LOD for while now, boy I'm glad I waited. When you first posted it, I didn't see in the store (Dickson City, PA). Apparently they must have had them in the back until after Black Friday.

Sounds like a Hot Deal to me...I bought the game and expansion used, with the manual and soundtrack for $15 shipped. So $9 for both sounds good to me! Good post!

Woohoo! Glad to see that the deal is still going on for some of you.

It's wierd...I was back in Staples nearly 2 weeks after I first posted about this deal, and there were still some LOD boxes left. And they were still on sale for $4.50.

Sheesh...am I the only one in my area that recognizes a good deal when I see one?

Ignore the one on the shelf at 6th and 23rd. That one has been opened and returned (the bottom tape is missing).

My local Staples musta been cleaned out of the clearance software deals. I couldn't find anything at these great prices. Are they in a separate section or in with the regular software?

They should be on a clearance rack mix with other software. You may want to ask a manager if you can't find it, their maybe a bunch of clearance items in the back.
