Yea, seems to be about 30 less than new egg price, altho local fry's people are stuck with taxes...

What is the benefit however, for the dual x16 pci spots when they wont' sell you a SLI bridge?

sure, but u don't even need a link. on newegg's homepage, it has an ad that says dfi+amd=combo savings or something on the right side where the promotions usually are.

I have this board

Rumor has it you can pencil-mod to make it SLI-compatible. Rumor also has it that Nvidia took steps to stop people from doing this, I don't have two PCIe video cards, so I haven't been able to try. If you can get it to work, this is SMOKING. The Ultra-D is the exact same PCB used for the SLI models, but $$ cheaper. *edit* oh, you asked about the bridge. Call them and tell them you stepped on yours - ooops!

In any case, the adv. of having two 16x slots is, well, you have two 16x slots. You can put in two PCIe gfx cards and run 4 monitors at once. Try doing that with one 16x slot!

Note you can get the same combo for $277 shipped from Monarch, and they give you Far Cry (full version, DVD edition), Half Life 2 (full version, coupon for Steam download), and a few months of free Napster.

You can get the mobo at Monarch for $129 shipped no tax.

The chip can be had retail from newegg or monarch or one of those stores for roughly $140.

So really, it's not cheaper than what it has been for the past few weeks.

Anyone heard if the new ATi Crossfires will work on a non-ATi dual x16 board? If so, it makes the Ultra-D quite useful for long term upgrades (grab an X800XL now, then a Crossfire version later - its quite nice that the cards don't have to match EXACTLY like they do with nVidia's SLI).

KIAman, we're talking about the 3000+, not the 3200+.

There is a coupon for AMD 64 combos at Monarch, $15 off. You can find it at FW.

And I picked up one of these combos at my local Fry's, and it came with a LBBLE 0520 Venice.
