HOT DELL COUPON - $400 off $999 Dell Dimensions

Just a heads up - a nice 40% discount if you configure a system right around a grand:

Dell Home has a new coupon good through Thursday morning at 5:59am:

"Save $400 on any Dimension Desktop purchase of $999 or more. Coupon expires 3/24/05 at 5:59 am CT or after 5000 uses, whichever comes first."

Plus free 2nd day shipping and free double memory upgrades.

Gonna play with this tomorrow. Maybe get a new box for some fun. Now to figure out what to use it for....Counter-Strike server?

remember, config your system today, and write down the price, then config it tomorrow and make sure that they didn't jack the price up for the coupon

Also, doesn't their 20% off Dimensions end tomorrow? If so, wouldn't that effectively add $200 to a $1,000 PC you configured today? You'd still get a $400 discount, but it would be a net of $200 off of a Dimension from today's prices.
Even if the 20% ends tomorrow at midnight, I'm not sure you'd be able to stack the discounts. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Did some playing around with a barebones 8400 with a gig of the 533 ram.

The retail was 1069.

Without the coupon was a 25% off taking it down to 801.75

But when i added the 400 off it removed the 25% off leaving the price at
669.

Warm deal, this is no monitor, 1gig of ram, and only an x300 card.
Any serious gamers would want to buy a non-dell card, either a 6600gt or a x800xl depending on price range (or higher).

from what I am seeing the systems on dell.com are 30% off. 400 dollars won't do much until this finishes.

Its basically an extra $50-$100 off. I speced out a really nice 8400 for $650.

does your come with monitor? the cheapest 8400 I can spec out is $1099 before the $400 off with the 17" crt monitor.

This coupon will not stack -- the current specials are nearly of the same value off a dimension desktop. Add the coupon and the other specials disappear.
