Dell M992 is 249 now, and there's a 25% off coupon specifically for dell branded CRTs. This bring it down to $186+tax+free shipping.

Good deal?

Good deal?

Stack the additional 10% ;) then it'll be even hotter.

I have this monitor and it's an okay monitor. I bought it a year ago for $220. I would rather spend another $100 and get a flat panel.

BE CAREFUL!

I got in on a deal very similar to this back in January, and my experience was HORRIBLE...

Basically Dell sent me two *supposedly* brand new monitors, except one of them had a red tint to it. After a ONE HOUR phone call I was able to return in, only to be sent a REFURBISHED monitor. But hey, at least it worked! And no red tint, cool!

Two days later, it wigged out and died. Yes, score another point for Dell quality assurance! So another hour wasted on the phone, and another week of waiting for the monitor. SECOND REFURB arrives, and the screen is mildly WARPED. But since the picture looked normal, I was fed up with shipping these monitors back and forth so I just kept it. Even so, the other monitor is beginning to have the red tint while this one with the warped screen flickers every once in a while, and will probably die after the warranty has expired.

NOT RECOMMENDED

Forgot to mention: due to this experience I will never purchase anything from Dell again

Would this monitor be anyway related to the M990? I have one of those and it's not exactly flat horizontally and vertically - but it's flatter than most monitors.

Lately i've also noticed it warp and get fuzzy along the edges. Doing graphic work all day that can get pretty annoying. Plus it won't work above 1280x resolution anymore. Probably on the verge of dying.

Can anyone who had a 990 and now have a 992 compare these two?

Thanks.

Important note is to NOT buy a monitor online. It costs too much to ship back and is a pain to get to the shipping location. This is one of those cases where buying it from a local dealer is worth it.

hmm I don't know about others but I own P991, and when I bought it , it arrived not as original shape ( something wrong with delivery?) one call in 15 min, next 2 days a new one arrive and shipping back label aslo included, I paid nothing to get a new one and shipping fee for old one, great service!

Thanks very much for the heads up on this one ;)

I ordered this one Sunday night with the 25% off and also a 10% off coupon, with tax it was a total of $179.75 and free 3-5 day Fed Ex shipping.

I live in St. Louis, MO and I was VERY suprised to receive it on Tuesday morning! ;) That's one hell of a nice free shipping that turned out to be like day and 1/2 shipping ;)

The monitor is SWEET, it's black, sharp, nice and flattttt, very high quality! ;)

This is a great deal for a quality monitor, I love it!!! ;)
