I agree with the other snowboarders who have posted warnings here. You want to make sure that what you buy is very durable and reliable. Also the boots must feel very comfortable and not be too tight (will cut off circulation and cause extreme soreness) or too loose (foot will move around in boot too much, compromising board control; and step-in's don't have the advantage of binding straps that can help make a boot tighter if it is a bit loose) - gambling on the fit isn't a good idea and can make your experience unpleasant to the point where you may hate snowboarding for the wrong reasons.
