Manuf. Specs are quite a bit different than the compgeeks specs... a LOT different.

SVC has also had these in a couple colors of fans for a few weeks now at the same price. I'd prolly get one to replace my Enermax 350 if I could find some good reviews (or any reviews at that rate) :(

I don't know what to make of the spec difference... They sure LOOK like the same units, from what I can tell.

Maybe one of the sheets has typo's or is for a "Similar" PS...

... are junk

Just another generic like Raidmax (may be same), but with $ poured into eye-candy before having a decent foundation. When a power supply is GOOOOOOD, it wears the manufacturer's name on the label, and only the major manufacturers (names we all recognize) buy high-quality parts in enough volume, and sell enough top-end units, to offer good quality at fair price (or great price when closeouts/salvage). "Right now" Sparkle 400W is the best value for anyone needing high-end system power. Best budget PSU "might" be Enlight/Thermaltake, but only after replacing the superred sleeve-bearing fan. THESE power supply have nothing going for them except the exterior...will make a nice paperweight.

If I had my way it would be a fineable offense to label this as 550W... we really do need a proper regulatory agency to review (more details of) power suppies these days. It didn't matter as much back when a system typically used only 150W of power, but these days it's a different story.

I bought the "450 watt" model from Compgeeks and it would not power my Athlon with no drives attached. I RMA'd it and the replacement did the same thing. Retested with a 1.9 GHz Duron and had the same result. Then I tried my K6-3 board with no drives and it finally was able to drive the video and pass POST. Pure junk. It weighs less than a 200 watt Sparkle that I bought years ago for $5. I also noted that the manufacturers specs for the "550" are the same as the label on my "450"

First, if you are going to buy one, and don't mind a blue fan instead of a green one, it is 90 cents cheaper, and there is no shipping charge (unlike the $8 or so shipping charge at Compgeeks), if you get it from 3bTech.net here.

Second, like revd, I bought a 450W version of this power supply and it IS pure crap. The actual voltages were all over the place, and it totally crapped out within 2 or 3 months. It's a piece of junk. Not worth the money at all IMO.

If you look under the "cables" section you'll see:
Model Name
RPP450

This is the same as the RP450 page. I think they copied the pages... The outputs of thier 450 and 550 are identical? ComputerGeeks probably used the box as the source for thier info.

Resellerrating for 3B Tech is 7.56,
but it looks like it is falling. Some of the reviews are pretty bad.

Resellerrating for Cmputer Geeks is 5.48, also looks like it is falling.
