Hot Deal on TEAC Floppy Drives

I buy these local for $11.00 so whats the deal...

darn it, i really needed a floppy drive too. for a new computer. well anyone know of any other deal going on?
 
I hate to say it, but look used for floppy drives. I just got a bunch (6) on Egay, and with shipping it worked out to just under $5 each....
they all work too 🙂
oh and 4 Panasonic, 1 Sony, and 1 generic.
 
I wish they'd be reasonable about something like a floppy drive. I've been to computer shops locally that try to sell them for $30... CD roms don't even cost that anymore! I guess if they can't rip you off on the expensive stuff they're trying to get you on the cheap stuff that you'd normally expect to be free.
 
Heck, drop by your local Goodwill and see. I've picked up a couple ancient systems for $3.. get good old floppy drives, some damn nice cases (though who needs a nice AT desktop case anymore?) and some 386 motherboards to use as wall art. Plus cables, connectors, and the ever necessary screws.

Bonus is you get to look at all the stuff people forget to delete. Not that I'd do that. Did play Carmen Sandiego on the 286 before I disassembled it though 🙂

i just ordered a alps floppy drive from www.cedirect.com for $12, and they didn't charge me shipping, only tax, since i'm also in washington, where they're at. haven't received it yet, hope they have good service.
