PC Zone has the retail AIW Radeon with 32mb DDR for $199!!! They are out of stock, but it lists as due in 10/23

Cnet lists their shipping at $5.99 Notice they are $60 cheaper than anyone else! Perhapse ATI dropped their price?

No, it's DDR, exact same as the 32 MB DDR except with the TV and video editing features.

For some reason the AIW does not perform as well in 3d games as the regular 32 MB DDR card. Is it clocked lower or is it the memory?

Looks like they got the regular 32mb DDR Radeon and the AIW Radeon backwards.
Maybe a misprice but worth a shot to see if it goes thru.
This is and will be the best deal for an AIW Radeon for at least a couple of months.

I'm considering cancelling my backordered AIW ($230 after coupon) and hoping I can get this one to save a few more bucks.

The Radeon AIW is clocked at 166/166MHz DDR, same as the Radeon 32Mb DDR, but less than the Radeon 64Mb DDR at 183/183MHz.
Just ordered mine right now. Why not at this price?

i believe the ati radeon OEM 32mb is clocked at 166/166 but the retail 32mb board is clocked at 183/183

Bonedoctor has it right... ALL Radeons are clocked at 166/166 except the retail 64M card which has 5.5ns & is clocked at 183/183. Some of the 64M OEM Radeons have shipped with 5.5ns ram, and can be overclocked as high as the retail version.

I have a regular Radeon 32mb DDR that does fine overclocked at 200mhz (using Powerstrip).
I haven't tried any higher yet until I know what I'm getting in to.

Hope the deal goes thru but I still think it's a typo that they will not honor. Please, PC Zone prove me wrong.

It's definately a mistake. The DDR Radeon is listed at $249 while this AIW is $199. The prices got reversed.

ATI Radeon 32mb DDR

current card:
ATI AIW Radeon 32mb DDR

The AIW Radeon is the current card in my system and I must say that it rocks. Here are some random thoughts:

- both retail Radeon cards I bought came clocked at 166/166 mhz
- I'm hiting around 5300 in 3dMark2000 with the AIW Radeon clocked at 180/180 (GTS 2 64 got me as high at 8000)
- having GuidePlus+ automatically record Dragonball Z is sweet!
- DVD playback is noticeably better than the GeForce cards

I was having problems with installing and uninstalling ATI's Radeon drivers - which is why I returned the original Radeon 32mb DDR. Once I got everything working with my AIW, it has been rock steady since.

The $199 price is probably a misprint. Buy.com has it back in stock at $258. Sweet deal - I paid full retail price and am very happy with the card.

Thanks, even though I don't have the money, I ordered one anyway. Got my confirmation e-mail also (actually 2 of them). Was gonna order one for $230 from the guy here on Anandtech that's selling Radeons but he's out of stock on the AIW and this is a better price, glad he ran out.

Thanks, I hope this deal is good, I just ordered it last night. I am building a new system and am down to just memory and a video card. This is the one I wanted but it was out of my price range. I'm sure glad I waited. It's still a little more than I wanted to pay but I couln't pass on the deal. I just hope it goes through.

Man, just ordered one too. This is a great deal. I'll sell my ELSA GLADIAC GTS if it gets here. I really want the TV tuner. I was going to purchase one at buy.com with $30 coupon during freeshipping for $230 shipped. Now for $206 shipped. I hope they honor it and it is not a sdr. (I saw onvia.com has a sdr model)

Now ya got me worried! The ATI website only shows it as a DDR version. Hopefully that is just an Onvia typo. I haven't seen anything other than DDR AIW versions at any other online retailer.

If it's SDR then I probably don't want it because of the performance hit.

I've searched and everyplace that gives a description says ddr. Unless their are some oem versions of AIW radeon with sdr floating around.

The manufacturer part number (100-709004) listed on the Zones.com site is correct for the AIW Radeon with DDR RAM. There is a price list on ATI's site which lists part 100-709004 as a Radeon AIW w/ 32MB DDR with a suggested price of $329. I would assume this is a retail card since OEM ones seem to be listed explicitly as 'white box' on the ATI list.

I don't think they made a SDR version. The picture is of the Retail box and it doesn't say OEM anywhere on the page.
