Hot deal on Cobra ESD 9100 Radar detector @ target

So we're talking $15 after rebate?? WOOHOO 😀

Do they have it online (or can you at least check stock status online)?

Also, is this just regional? What store location did you go to?

**Note** while the page linked shows a rebate icon, the icon is not clickable.

hmm...a toyota driver with the need for speed....🙂

I'm going to check it out now. ...

EDIT...actually since its easter sunday, (and I can't break into the store)...I'll check it out monday morning.

be wary of the rebate

i bought it back in december. still not posted. i called. they (tca) said to resubmit. that was 3 weeks ago. still not posted 🙁

Yeah, is Target open today or not?

Also, is it just me or have the forums been down until now since last night?

this is a very good deal,
all Target Stores are closed for Easter (3/31/02)

Mark

Not to crap, just fair warning - a cheap radar detector can be worse than no radar detector because it can easily give you a false sense of confidence for many reasons - poor senstivity, no directionality - you don't know if the alarms means the cop you just passed or if there is another one up ahead, etc, etc. Considering how expensive a speeding ticket can be, buying a high-end radar detector can pay off after saving you from just one ticket. So be careful one this one, it may be an anti-deal in the long run.

Also, I got a ticket last summer when I drove about 80 miles/hr in Grand Canyon area with my radar detector. Police accually detect that I have a radar detector while he drove opposite to my direction and turn around and pull me over. I was hiring it when he went down his police car. I was begging he to excuse me and finally he wrote me a ticket 70 miles/hr instead of 80 in a 55 mile/hr area...

I agree, cheap radars don't work well and it's worst than not having a radar. I bought one in the $179 (Cobra) range and used on the I-5 going to LA and it sucked. I must had over 300 false alarms and had to shut it off 'cause it was just annoying. Never used one since. I guess if you spend around 400-500 bucks you can get a decent one but those off of Target are jokes.

I concur, Cobras can work. But if you are loooking for a good radar you have to go with the bigboys unfortunately. Bel 980, Passport 8500, and Valentine1 are the best available but they're also the most expensive 🙁.

Of course here in SoCal where the traffic rarely moves above the speed limit (usually goes much less in fact), this is not really a hot deal.

Of course if you go up to the mountains to race, then it might be worth considering. 🙂

<< if we all have around 400-500 laying around, we wouldn't be on this board searching for deal right?? >>

Haha, VERY true 🙂
